There is no way at all that apple are going to sanction a drop in hardware or contract price. Why should they? all this is going to mean for them will be less headaches with people unlocking and/or jailbreaking a phone if they can get it on their network of choice without having to muck around. according to nothing more than simple hardware sales, they're well aware of the cash cow they are (still) sitting on. why should they let it go for any less when they can keep squeezing joe public for every penny on a few more new clothes for the proverbial emperor?
hundred bucks says the tariffs remain IDENTICAL on each of the new networks.
Hey, WHO CARES if you people want to sit there bitching about a perfectly solid, well made artifact? It constantly amazes me the amount of dross what must be the 'average reader' on this website seems to come up with when considering (or should that be NOT considering) what to post in the Comments.
It's an iPhone.
It's going to look the same, not matter how many minor (MINOR) design changes are added to tweak the original.
The spec is going to be better. Who cares how much better? If you don't like it, or don't want one, or could not care less about the Apple offering in the first place but feel your opinion just HAS to be heard, DON'T BOTHER READING THE ARTICLES.
Who cares about whether you think it looks cheap or it needs a 'design update' or a chrome rim or as far as you are concerned is 'stale and boring'? Apple designed and built it, apple can do whatever the hell they want to with it.
And if you don't like it, don't worry, there are hundreds of THOUSANDS of well adjusted consumers out there who do. Like i said; no-one cares.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, YEAH. Where is the 32GB version of this thing, already?! If samsung are ladelling out 64GB SSDs, it goes without saying that cupertino are just being greedy as usual, but common sense is common sense.
'Winmo' as it is affectionately titled here and elsewhere is a steaming pile o' . I have had the misfortune of having to use unca billy's OS (if it can be so called) for the last two years and cannot wait to get my hands on something a little more aesthetically pleasing and well thought through. Hooray for Jobsie.
A reasonable way may not be forthcoming unless you're able to swing one from somewhere in Europe. Countries like France and I believe Italy enjoy legislation which demands that consumers are given the option of buying an unlocked device from operators, albeit on a pay-as-you-go wicket.
I'd love to get one myself - but it's always possible that the boys from Cupertino have managed to lock their baby down too tight this time what with the in-store registration and activation.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
