...Really? Cheap, textured matte? Fuck fingerprints Id live with those, atleast my PS3 right now screams understated sexyness in the glossy black. This really makes it look like a chinese knock off that came directly from Sony's factory. Hey Sony, here is matte done right.

http://www.porhomme.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/audi-r8-matte-black-2.jpg

just ignore that car, focus on the colour...

Or, if you offered it in grey glossy, or white glossy, there wouldn't be this problem....
I grabbed a Kuro for 3500 while working at Best Buy. Be damned the 50" size, be damned by friends bigger sets, hands down a Kuro mops 9 kinds of rape with every tv out there. IF you can grab one for sub-2000, a new one at that, go for it. Such a shame that a) they stopped and b) Panasonic didnt make a mad bid for the Kuro tech. Either way it wouldve been win win.
Oh really? I find that odd. I can pound extremely fast on my Blackberry, and its been under 6 months. Ive had the iphone since it came out. Still struggling.

And the Pre is the perfect example of give the people everything they need, and let them chose if they want to use it. YES MULTITASKING KILLS BATTERY> NODUHH!!!

I think every manufacturer realizes that, and they put it in. My Bold goes days on end when I do minimal use. But the days I am using GPS and on MSN and doing lots of texting it dies pretty quick. And I am not pissed. Its expected.

And I didn't know the iPhone magically got baked in .docx editing powers...and .pptx editing powers....
So in the ever correct words of Paul, physical keyboards blow? And apple's ts is the best? Please blow me.

I have both a iPhone and a Blackberry Bold. I boy I hate the days where my Bold's battery is dead and I don't have enough time to get enough charge in it. Not that typing on a iPhone is bad, but thats only good when your sitting down, or atleast not moving. The minute I start moving my accuracy drops like a brick, i just dont like it. I need that tactile response, something; anything! Thats why I love my dads omnia, haptics atleast let me know I hit it. Thats why I lvoe the Bold's keyboard. Its got the right amount of push, and I pound out emails like no tomorrow. On the move.

Paul, seriously, you need to stop saying the iPhone is the best at this or the best at that or whatever the hell it is you usually say. You like the iPhone, hell thats great. I like it too. As a toy. A very expensive, shiny, toy. When I want real work done Ill go to my computer or my Berry.

and paul? Apple didn't create the first touchscreen. No one copied them. Would you like to know who Apple took a cue from? LG, and Samsung. Yes. Samsung Armani? LG Prada? Hmm I swear both those phones were being designed and planned, and released, long before a "iPhone" was even thought of. Please, get your stuff together. Apple only excels because you THINK they have the best interface around. I am truly sorry. I would take a Storm (and I yes I know its a downright piece of shit) over a iPhone if I could. Because while you may have a better app eco system, a better browser, I can still send a sms, fire a email, download my attachments, and upload a picture. Hell the attachments and uploading on a REAL SMARTPHONE happen at the same time. OH, and since I am starting on where the iPhone fails, hows this. Push notifications are broken. They are. Can't apple take the hint, and realize, to do it right? How hard is it, to have at the status bar, a little sms/mms, voicemail, email, im, etc. indicator. My blackberry does it. MY RAZR did it....

Well, plasma all the way. Local Dimming is a close second, and all edge-lit sets from Samsung look promising, but I mean, its a freaking TV. Not a goddamn fashion statement, and I truly scoff at customers who want it because it looks sexy. Ill give Samsung brownie points for making one hell of a good looking TV, but that doesn't justify he $5000 (CAD) price tag the 55" 8000 comes with. There are just as many other good looking LCDs, that give a more superb PQ, but are chunkier.

All the customers I tend to deal with, are either in the middle or dead set on LCD. I have to ask why they give plasma the hate, and it always comes down to "ohh it dies out after a while", and "it gets too hot"

Worthless excuses, especially when I trot over to the demo wall, throw in a movie, and on ANY plasma, show the 'informed customer' just how out of touch he/she is. Even 720p sets from Samsung and Panasonic manage to hold their own against the 1080p LCDs. Not saying you need to drop 6 gs on a Elite, but that doesn't mean your XBR8 is worth its stupid sticker price. I guess its really personal preference, mine would be in the basement, so the choice was the Kuro. And ohh baby, I don't regret it.
The power adapter reeks of a PS job to me, it just looks fake for some reason
Ohh for the love of god...

I just bought my 5020 after months of working at best buy and comparing everything from a 55a960 from samsung to a kdl52xbr7 from sony...and on my life in those bright, store conditions the Pioneer absolutely destroyed those two sets.

Factor in that when I got home, it was amazing. I always had a half heart about the whole "best black on any flat panel" claim, but holy @$#% it actually does. Its a bajillion times better then any LCD as far as I am concerned.

Its such a pittance that Pioneer is dropping out, they did make the best flat panel out there; atleast to me.

Stick with the 9Gs if you want Pioneer at its best. I know I love my 5020 to death. And somewhere in my wallet there is room for a Elite 151..somewhere...
Guys, it is 799 unsubzidized. Read: No carrier contract. 799 for a no term, unlocked handset. Okay?

With a 3 year watch the price of this thing plummet.

And you are so concerned. Give it a few months. You can essentially grab this is Europe for free with a contract. That is how fast phones depreciate.

If you like it, but the price is throwing you off, wait 4-6 months and watch it drop a few hundred.
Dude...the reason these phones are so much is because they are not subsidized. If this was 3 year, then the N96 would be a more reasonable 200-300 on the term.
To Gabe....wow you had to say that.

To put that to rest, the iphone is no better then a whole Nokia company...

Honestly, I can see why people are so amazed by the iPhone is that you really haven't taken a look at other companies. What the iPhone does now is what most phones are done with doing 2 years ago...but whatever.... back to topic

Ill be grabbing the N96 anyways...I liked my experiance with the N95, so if the N96 is just a 'refresh'. its a welcome one. Ive had the N95 for 2 years, so by tech standards its real old. But w/e.

You all forget, Nokia has to make phones for every type of consumer and niche (hence these 3 new ones) wheras someone like Apple doesn't. They are good with one phone to cover all types of consumers. Hold that in mind, and youll then realize why Nokia pumps out these many N series phones. Pretty sure they could make a uber N phone...but that wouldn't satisfy all consumers would it??
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
