Completely right. I'm studying Music Business/Management right now and while there is absolutely no business model anymore for the music industry to thrive on, artists are making almost 90% of their revenue from both merchandise and public performance. As well, their publishing deals give them a shit-ton of cash flow, as does ASCAP and BMI.

People need to stop worrying about illegal downloading affecting the artists. First of all, the times when the artists WERE NOT IN IT FOR THE MONEY are coming back, people are writing music for the sake of having an audience to listen to it. If you notice, the only people giving a shit about their music being stolen, are the artists that are in it for the money, not the music.

Argue what you will with how the artist should be paid for his work, I totally agree, and being an artist myself, I feel that getting money for my work is essential to being able to pay bills, however, I would take an audience of 1,000 people listening to my music over selling any amount of CD's or digital singles.

Realize that record companies are sinking (already sunk), and Artists are now doing things themselves.

I don't know where you live, but i live in Potomac, MD. Every kid at the highschool here drives either a Lexus, BMW, or a Mercedes Benz. You'd be surprised, there are a ridiculous amount of parents that will spend whatever on their kids. The kids are fucking retards and drunk drive all the time, actually last year we had a senior from the high school die in an accident, driving a Mercedes SLK-500, the driver was on ecstasy. Where I am from (suburbs of DC, lots of politicians and fortune 500 owners), teenagers driving a mercedes isn't only normal, it's expected. Disgusting.

Yeah but are they going to let it come to the Ipod Touch? Does anyone know if that is in the works for the Touch, or is OTA podcasting straight for iphone users only?

FIrst of all, GOW3 isn't slated for PS3 release. It is epic's choice on which console to sign it off to. Realize that wherever you heard that information is false until epic releases that statement. INITIALLY it was slated for PS3 release as Epic was going to try to give the GOW title to different consoles. However, not that they have seen GOW and GOW2 do so incredibly well on the 360, then i think they are going to stick with it. Let's face it, PS3's online network BLOWS. No one is on it and the funny thing is...its free. Whilst xbox 360 still reigns in the dough for Live, with the most players since its conception.

And also...Uncharted was mediocre. Who the hell plays warhawk? Littlebigplanet is decent, Motorstorm 2? Really? what a joke. Ratchet and Clank 14? that franchise is dead.

It's silly to argue that PS3's platform games are anything but mediocre. MGS4 was and will be the only truly great game SPECIFIC to the ps3.

Who really uses the browser on the ps3? And with that price tag, they can't even use the "Yeah, but it's also the cheapest Blu-Ray player!" argument.
