ive been wanting one of these for so long
i want one, but dont have any mullah babies.
you forgot the 36 dollar activation fees per carrier. Sprint will charge you 36 then whoever you switch to will charge you 36, verizon is 35. and you will have to pay whatever state tax(which you will lose on ebay). So you would probably be paying around 500 plus all the hassle you have to go through with customer service and all that. And if sprint is going to sell it at 550 then no one will pay over 500 for a phone that is locked to one carrier when you can get it for 550 brand new. You might as well just buy one on ebay after they come out. haha
i can check employee price on the pre once it is in our system. Just to let you guys know best buy does pay a lot for some phones. A Fuze cost Best Buy over 400 per phone. iPhones and other phones are price locked forever because Best Buy has to pay full proce basically, like laptops.
im not sure if you can do a price match online because there technically are not any "local" stores online. If it is from amazon or any place like that then no. Best Buy's Price Match Policy states that a product can only be price matched as long as it is in stock at a local competitor and it is the same model. hope this helps
i work at best buy mobile and if sprint has it for 550, then we will price match it....WE LEGALLY HAVE TO. however, it must be in stock at a local sprint store so if you are in california and a sprint store in new york has some, no price match. so if you want to get one at best buy for the different service plan or what not then just wait until there is plenty of stock and do a price match, especially if you are in lexington,KY. I know for a fact my store will.
the launch date was pushed back till either 2/12 or 2/15 and they wll be 250 for new or upgrade. i work at bestbuy so be on the lookout mid february.

p.s. best buy is supposed to be the exclusive 3rd party retailer for the first 60 days of the palm PRE launch
i work in best buy mobile and our stores will be getting it august 27th and the pro(rafael) wont be till november, so if you want the diamond itll be here later this month, but if u want the pro, u got a while to wait
i work at best buy mobile and i have numerous customers come in and cant pair their headsets. we charge 14.99 and i let the customer know that it is easy and they can do it themselves and if they can't then they can come in and ill help them. for people that can't why not charge a price? it is called making money. if you can set yours up then more power to you, come take a seat in my best buy and offer your free bluetooth pairing service and see how annoyed you get...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
