Not having 3G on AT&T means this is, in effect, an unsubsidized locked phone. Who is going to use this on anything other then T-Mobile?

I hope the next Nintendo console will not only be in HD, but also have an HDD (or other form or large storage - SSD anyone?), better friend system and an "Achievements" equivalent. Having said all that, we like ours quite a bit and play it often, even as-is.

Regarding the dopey comments about how you report coverage when you don't have coverage, the answer is that you can set the location on the map, precisely, so you can do it after the fact. It has google maps built-in and you can even go to hybrid view to get the location precise - x marks the spot. Really this is a great idea, though only great in practice if they actually use the data that gets reported to improve their coverage.

I have a flashcart that I use to use and while there is homebrew, it is pretty universally awful. I suspect you could count on one hand, or perhaps finger, the number of flashcart owners who exclusively use homebrew (as opposed to ripped games). Any who do are pretty starved for entertainment. The emulators are the closest thing to full fledged software and even those are pretty piss poor, not to mention that the legality of most ROMs used with them is highly questionable as well. Again you could probably count on one hand or finger the number of people who use any of those emulators exclusively with ROMs they've ripped and have possession of.

Great - now I'll be flooded with PS3 trophy notices in addition to learning that a cow wandered onto your farm.

Why do the makers of these GPS cradles insist on having a mini-USB port and a separate audio out, instead of having a dock connector pass-through? If it has a dock connector I could use this with my FM transmitter in one car, in with the Griffin power+remote thing in the other. As it is I can use neither product with this thing and as such it's a lot less appealing to me. Moreover it means that in order to both power your iPhone and get audio out, you have to have two separate cables snaking down from the mount.

I wish they'd upgrade the netflix client so I didn't keep getting hiccups where it stops for a second to adjust the stream. That doesn't happen at all when I'm streaming netflix on our Mac mini, but it happens fairly frequently on the Xbox. Plus it takes far longer to get the stream started on the Xbox then on the mini. Both are pretty annoying.

As for content, I'm pretty happy with netflix streaming. There's more good choices on there then I have time to watch. I suppose it depends on what kind of movies you like to watch. If you're strictly a blockbuster viewer you aren't going to be entirely happy, but if you like (or also like) quality smaller movies, there's plenty to see.

One thing that people may not realize about the netflix streaming feature, though, is that the movies and videos there aren't there forever. They stay on the service for a period of time and then they are removed, with others taking their place.

There are certainly games that show that the iPhone is a real gaming platform. For example, Robocalypse Mobile Mayhem is one and it sells for peanuts. RMM is a very solid RTS game with a pretty extensive single-player campaign and good online play. There's a lot of junk, sure, but there's a lot of good stuff too and it's only getting better.

One thing this review fails to mention is that instead of having a dock connector pass-through, it has separate audio output mini-jack and mini-usb port for charging. I have a nifty device that connects via the dock connector and provides audio out, power and pause/play/skip forward/back controls. I can't use that with this cradle. Instead I have to have two separate cables running to audio in and power, and I lose the remote functions.

Since when is a 2D Mario platformer not a "core gamer's" game? What qualifies a game for that coveted label now? An M rating?
