I doubt they ALL got layer off but my friends dad works for danger and when I asked her about the sidekick touch a couple of weeks ago she said they scrapped the project because of the recession. so a lot of people probably did get layed off from Danger.
very similar to my apple computer. hmmm...
I had a sidekick id and I really liked it minus all of the missig features. I have an iPhone 3G right now and it's great except for the no multitasking, expensive bill, and bad on screen keyboard. I like the keyboard horizontally but otherwise it is just horrible and if I text too fast it freezes so I m switching to this sidekick or the sidekick '08 as soon as it comes out and I test it. by the way I posted this from my iPhone and I had to fix like 10 mistakes. :(
Also like the comment mentioned above... the ability to multitask is something I miss soooo much! I was stunned that such an advanced phone like the iPhone didn't support that... but them again it doesn't do video recording or picture messaging either.... and the QWERTY keyboard it so cramped it's not even worth it and apple won't realease a horizontal keyboard either. :(
I had the sidekick id and it was great and cheap minus the lack of normal features but then I got an iPhone 3G. I love my iPhone and all but I miss the physical keyboard and the $50 bills that have unlimited text, ims, etc. and 300 minutes (I use less). But with my iPhone I have a $75 a month bill with only enough texts to text people that don't get texts through the iPhone's email... I would definitely buy this to get everything that I wanted back especially because it will have 3G. :)
freako. You people seriously need to get a grip. the sidekick is just as amazing as the iPhone. so is the fuss about it doesn't have a "mulittouch" screen, it isn't locked onto att, and it doesn't have a MobileMe system that crashes.? huh guys?

I have the Sidekick iD and I love it.!!! Exceptfor the fact that when I send text I have to wait for it to finish sending before I can start to write the next one. Why can't the at least let me write it and send it once the other one is done sending kinda like you can click print on a computer 20 times and they just wait in line to be printed. I would eget this phone because it smaler than the iD but I want it on prepaid... =(

P.S. I have a camera and an iPod so I don't need to have a high rez camera and super speakers for music.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
