I was able to get this running on a Sprint Touch with the ability to browse the menus etc. It does detect the charger. However, the device locks up when you try to type in a number to dial. It couldn't detect an incoming call either. But in all it's cool to see Android 1st hand without having to get a G1.
Wonder what the mobile penetration is in Sri Lanka. This sounds like a way to drive up sales of mobile phones & services.

Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue.
