I have been using Redfly with the AT&T Tilt and have found it to be an extremely useful device. There comes a time when your thumbs become tired from too much phone keyboarding, and spending around $10 a night in a hotel for usually malfunctioning WiFi to connect your laptop is a waste of money. About 20 nights of staying in a hotel about makes it for the Redfly cost. Not that bad of a deal.
I ordered one and it should be coming Wednesday. I believe that the concept is very useful. No more tethering fees to get a big screen or carrying around a heavy laptop when not needed. Traveling to Europe with one of these and having a roaming data plan would be ideal for connecting to internet and doing something useful with file management, any time any place.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
