All prospective and current Sprint users, should go to the official Sprint forums at;

http://forums.buzzaboutwireless.com/baw/board?board.id=Samsung_Instinct

...and read about how Sprint has completely screwed it's Instinct customers before considering any of these dumb new phones. Their customer service reps have shown complete contempt for the frustrated masses, mislead repeatedly about crippling the phone to rob users of utility and squeeze them for more money with app sales.

Truly appalling. We've pleaded with Engadget to report on these very relevant concerns and lend some voice to recently f@#ked over Sprint customers, and blatant abuse of contract terms and advertised function. 6 months and even then we won't be able to use a keyboard or java functionality.... ON A JAVA phone.

In the meantime, we get stories about Dogs sniffing out cellphones in Jail. Thanks guys.

You guys should really cover what a disaster Sprint's Instinct is.

It's been over 2 months, and there is NO KEYBOARD support for java apps.

The browser crashes on MOST sites. Out of alexa's top 20 sites, 6 load.

The Speakerphone is broken if you have the volume at more than half.

Sprint TV is unusable on the Instinct.

Sprint has heard the huge outpour of complaints but repeatedly dismiss it's loyal customers. Their excuses are laughable, CS told one user at BAW that hurricane gustav was to blame for a delayed keyboard release. They advertise it as midp 2.0 compliant, thus it MUST have keyboard support. They simply dont want people running existing java apps because they want to SELL us THEIR OFFICIAL APPS.

SHAMEFUL.\

PLEASE COVER THIS.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
