I called Vodafone (my local carrier in the Netherlands) and based on these specifications they said yeah, this phone should function on their network They use GSM bands 900/1800 and they use 2100 Mhz for 3G. So the Storm should be a fully functioning 3G Touch Berry on Vodafone Europe. Of course you could just wait for the GSM version (9500) which will be released through Vodafone the same time VWZ releases the 9530. But it may be cheaper to import so I understand your dilemma.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
