Why is this coming with windows (XP)?
Someone needs to write his thesis in word or edit photo's in photoshop or play games on this device?
@rendezvous65: Really? I played with the beta yesterday (livecd) and my X-fi wasn't detected, only the crappy onboard realtek soundcard.

Messed with 4front's implementation wich uses OSS for a while but still no success.
@kyle:

First, you're right, the average consumer isn't interested in what CPU his phone has. That however is no excuse to me for not making products better. I bet it's al about the money. Since this CPU is still used in so many devices the price/unit must be extremely low by now.

Second, you can't argue taste. I, for example, like the stock android better over any custom interface because it's simple and doesn't look bloated.
Old + old = no money for HTC, sorry.

That 528Mhz CPU is like the atom n270: everybody wants something newer and better but they keep throwing the same old shit to our heads.

And while I can understand the 528Mhz CPU somehow (You can't change the CPU that easily), what's your excuse for android 1.5 HTC? Android 1.6 is out for some time and 2.0 is about to hit other devices.
How is that cube from touchwiz usefull in any way?
"I want app X, hmmm let me play with the cube until I find it"

How much would it be without windows 7?
Beautiful device but why is there an 'internet explorer logo'-key next to the windows key? That's just.. to much..
Look how lovely the glossy screen reflects the light shining trough the windows and some random guy looking at another laptop. Let's all buy one of these things and reflect the sunlight at each other, it will be so much fun.
(sarcasm)

Otherwise: nice laptop :)
Simple:

$99 for the 32GB version and $199 for the 64GB version + an expensive 2 year subscription with your local operator (and only not a shitty one if you're lucky).

Of course it will only play apple approved content downloaded from itunes and strong words will be bleeped out, sexual and violent scenes will be cencored or simply cutt out. Only 50% of the players functionality will be implemented on release, the other 50% will arrive with an update 1 year after the release.

The name of the device: Apple iPhone 3GS HD.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
