Or if you're on a Mac and using iCal you could just...
Choose iCal > Preferences.
Click General, and then select the “Show Birthdays calendar” checkbox.

And wala, a Birthdays Calendar.
The problem is that people (me) aren't going to spend X dollars on an unknown quantity. (Don't get me started on the instore "reviews"...) Apple needs to come up with a default Demo system for all the paid apps.
The 7, 15, 30 Day free trial has certainly worked fine for computer programs for the last 20+ years.
Thats fairly common now to require the buyer to ship it back at his own expense.
Directed at "mr.truth" At least in the US...
The whole point of a civil action is to receive money for damages. Additionally this is Japan not the US. Reporting your Boss to his superiors is a shitload harder to do, nevermind the social stigma that is attached to it.

Damnit, the mcdonalds coffee case was because the coffee was scalding hot. You chastise the public for ignorance then spout off your own ignorant drivel. You are no better if not worse than those you chastise.
@Aaron
They already do that without the help of RFID... They just check the sales at the end of the day/week/month and if it didn't sell they don't order any more.
I'm gonna have to agree and say that the powersquid already solves this problem
Because it's so hard to grab a backpack also?
Loved the line about the garotte though.
I thought the black Ipods came with black earbuds? Sorta strange to see all that black then white buds.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
