That isn't for broadcasting Wi-Fi, they're just going to be advertising that you can connect it to your Mi-Fi device (for simultaneous voice/data). That's all.
Just wanted to correct that and say that it's got more than just EDGE on there, check the top left corner. UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA
You won't be able to pick one up in store on Dec 1st, either. It'll be warehouse shipping only. No in-store date has been announced.
oh well is telling the truth, whether you agree with it or not. I don't have the source document as I didn't receive it, I just read it. Don't expect any new PDA/smartphones until this comes to pass either.

And why wouldn't they? RIM and Apple have been hugely successful despite this requirement. Clearly people will pay if they have to. Furthermore, Omnia sales could cannibalize Storm sales and result in less valuable contracts.

"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
