I haven't used Tweetie, but since I switched from Twitterific to TwitterFon I haven't looked back.

Oh, and worst interviewer ever.
I downloaded the Storm emulator to see how the browser compares with mobile Safari. NOT impressed.

The Storm is supposedly based on WebKit, but that doesn't mean it's automatically good.

A real usability problem I had was that SmartText mode (where the "keyboard" has two letters per key) was terrible at predicting URLs because they aren't proper nouns. Also missing: you know the little ".com" button that appears on an iPhone when it knows you're entering text in the URL bar? Never knew how much I needed it until it was gone. I also really miss the iPhone's "add to homepage/bookmark" button, integrated Google search, and tabbed browsing.

BlackBerry HTML/CSS rendering is better than it used to be, but the iPhone still renders them much better. I'm not sure if Storm is handling javascript properly, though I'm still experimenting.

So far Storm's browsing looks better than previous BlackBerries, but it still has a long way to go.
Dammit. I can't believe they haven't fixed the terrible text problems with Fireworks.

Selecting fonts is just broken. You can't type the name of a font, you have to scroll down to it. Then you're usually treated to a beachball and you have to restart Fireworks. Plus, type is just super slow to render. Did they at least fix the thing where Fireworks will crash if you "export selected slices" while you have a non slice object selected?

Adobe's about to have someone eat their lunch. You can't just keep releasing the same product with nothing but UI tweaks without your users getting wise.
You can make rubber feet for just about anything with a hot glue gun. Just a little dab'll do ya.

Hot glue guns with glue sticks are seriously under $5.
It would have been great if TimeMachine automatically did bootable backups with restorable checkpoints. Supposedly the upcoming Leopard compatible version of SuperDuper will work with TimeMachine to this possible.

I wrote a OSX backup strategy guide today, and other blogs today are talking about backups and data recovery. Are sunspots killing our drives or something?
Never spray cleaners directly on your screen or other electronics. Always spray them into the microfiber cloth and then use the cloth normally.

The reason for this is that the cleaner can drip down and leach up into the screen via capillary action.

Also, never ever use Windex, alcohol or any cleaners that aren't explicitly marked as LCD/electronics safe.
I don't know why anyone would even need funding these days. Software costs nothing to get going, and even manufacturing can be bootstrapped now.

Maybe if you're just trying to get acquired YouTube-style you need to burn a lot of cash, but the odds are long and suitors will know you're desperate.

I really like the wired remote that came with my 3rd gen iPod. It's button layout was kind of crummy, but it was great having it while running on a trail or treadmill.

Remember when iPods came with a free wall charger, wired remote, dock, and belt clip case? Now all you get is a frickin' USB cable and pouch. That's Apple though, $300 RAM and $100 iPod cases in fine Corinthian leather.
Man I love my Intellimouse 3.0. I've tried top of the line mice from Logitech and the newer Microsoft mice, but they all have scroll wheels that are too hard to click down.

I use middle click to open and close Firefox tabs like nobody's business, so it's crucial that my middle click takes a light touch and is accurate.

Horizontal scrolling with the mouse wheel is overrated anyway, and smooth scrolling (no clickety clack) is a disaster for both office apps and gaming.
Can anybody here wildly speculate on when the next generation of MacBookPros will come out? Late October maybe? I REALLY want one, but I don't want to buy a 1st gen model when the next generation gets closer every day.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
