It is supposed to be faster than wifi I forget the speeds but i think it is around 10 Mbs as apposed to 700 Kbs Cable speeds are around 1.4Mbs
Go Verizon I can't wait for 4G speeds hopefully i wont have to get the storm 2 because they got higher speeds. I hope my current unit just picks it up.
Of couse it will i dont think verizon is giving any towers away in florida at all (verizon or alltel) as part of the merger so that means you will now get two companys worth of towers that your phone will pick up.

Now alltel roams off of sprint now so your prob. wondering why you have no service from roaming. that is because the carriers dont want the phone to roam so it only goes in roaming if their is absolutly no coverage (poor coverage dosen't count)

I have Verizon now and it deff works great in Orlando and am from Naples and it works great here to.
You will deff be happy with verizon service...
Goodbye Chad, my circle, nights/wkds at 7.....Hello red OS screen, locked down phones,.......

Are u serious... You have a point with my circle and n/w @7 but if your already an alltel customer then i dont think they can or are going to change that.

Now the phones please alltel cannot even compete with big red on that. They may limit some things but they dwaf what alltel has to offer.
I think they both roam off of verizon.
I as well downloaded the software upgrade (thanks to crackberry.com) and installed it today

Camera faster
media player is better
smother transitions
internet is a little faster
programs close smother
so far no resets when multiple programs are running

as for the IT guy that is your job i mean you cant be that busy that u have to do a 10 min download once or twice a month.

for all the rest of you go download this NOW!!!!
Why are you going to bestbuy to pre-order it. Has anyone ever bought a phone from those people that work at BB they are incapable of handling that. I cant imagine the problems you guys are going to have. Mattyb123 thats why you are prob. the first one who pre-ordered it form BB, Their is going to be plenty of them your best bet is to wait and get it from a verizon store. Stormfeaver why do you need wifi it has nationwide internet that is required on the phone and it has global internet.
That is why they have the curve... This phone is not gonna replace it. They are going to be sold together like the pearl and curve are now you can just add the storm to the mix...
*No VIDEO ACCELERATION
*No LED, regular TFT LCD
*No 16.7 MILLIONS TRUE COLORS LIKE THE THE IPHONE
*ONLY 65000 COLORS WITH OUT 3D ACCELERATION SO IT DOENS'T MATTER IF IT IS 3.2 MP OR 13.2 MP CAMERA
*No WIFI
*No SIM CARD BUT ITS A WORLD PHONE(ARE YOU SERIOUS?) $3/min global roaming
Verizon, not every body is idiot

Mike your beloved iPhone is a peice of s...
-No 3.2 camera
-Cant send pics
-No removable battery
-Their is a sim card in bb and it is not 3$ a min
-Can only be servised at an apple store (not alot of those)
-It has wifi but is on att broadband network. (Small and Slow)
- att Service (enough Said)
-at least the blackberry dosent make u buy a outdated device at launch (Not 3g or broadband network for internet) and then come with a new one 6 months later (seriously wtf i would have been mad)
All you idiots complaining about wifi... why! First off verizon has the most extinsive broadband network. Also on all blackberrys its required to get the internet package on it anyways. Finally now that is has edge and 3g network for over sea's use their is no absolutly no reason for it to have wifi.
I guess their is one if u live in the middle of no where and if thats the case why would u really need a phone like this u cant be to busy..
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
