The reason for some of the major cities not being there is because they would have to carve out spectrum that they really don't have, or they only have 850 Mhz in that market, as I am sure this is going across 1900 Mhz
Color affects SAR????? What crack pipe did you hit off of? It isn't the color, it is the material, which won't change just because of a different dye in the injection process.

I agree on the color sucking, crap brown has hit three phones in a row, shadow, sidekick LX and now this....who they got selecting these (lack of) colors must be blind....

The network won't be on for about a year, so why admitting it is 3G is important, I have no clue. The thing can't roam, only works in US.
No, the 3G network is not ready, this is pre-seeding the product for the network launch late next year. Sorry folks, have to be patient
Ummm, all Lithium-Ion batteries only last 300 charge cycles before starting to break down, depending on the temp and other conditions. Sometimes it can be less, especially in a device that gets warm, such as some cell phones and other high heat items like laptops.

Guess this idiot needs to sue the guy who invented Lithium for batteries

Pick ME Pick ME!!!!!
I so want one. Help a poor techie out!!!!
Ross, I guess you work for Sprint, because the last time I checked, adding a 200% premium for the convenience to download a song OTA was a bit much. There is convenience and then there is just plain stupid pricing, hence why no one uses Sprint's fabulous store.

Why don't you look into raising that price too and allow more customers to churn....
There is a huge benefit of locking these phones. First, they subsidize every unit they sell by at least $150. So by locking the phone to only work on their network, they prevent you from buying the phone then moving to another carrier. This is especially important for Pre-Paid phones which also carry a subsidy and therefore protect the carrier's investment in the devices.

Verizon allows any phone with a range of ESNs to be activated on their network, so if there is a manufacturer for Sprint and Verizon you will likely be able to activate any sprint phone on Verizon. Same goes for US Cellular, Leap and MetroPCS. Those companies love when people bring their own phone as the cost of aquiring that subscriber just went down by at least $150, so they profit from you. Plus they will lock you into a two year contract (most of them) and what did you get for that???? Nothing.

What people don't realize if that if the carriers cannot protect these phones subsidy, then they will just stop subsidizing the phones and you won't get any more at $29 a piece.
I haven't heard of many CC's being affected, but hotel keys definitely. They use a different level of magentism for the R/W hotel keys versus the ones used in permanent CC's.

Please don't start the rumor now that magnets might cause cancer either, as all of those bracelets sold at 2 AM would go out of business real quick.
With privacy being so important, and after the Paris issue of security, do you blame them?

You can dial #MIN# from your phone and get this live to your phone (better than what a website can do) and you can also log into your my.t-mobile.com account and check your minutes there.

What is the benefit of using some third party application over using the carrier's techniques? Plus with 1,000 minutes (or 1,500 if you got that plan last year) are you really too worried?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
