you realize the jesusphone is locked down and crippled just as much as any vzw dumbphone, right? in fact, vzw smartphones are arguably more open than the jesusphone
I think a lot of this has to do with the ridiculous amounts that some credits the company has been forced to issue b/c a customer didn't think they would need a data plan. "what? $29.99 - i'm not paying any more than the bare plan." becomes a $900 data overage because the customer discovered they can get weather updates on their centro.
you're going to be eating your words tomorrow. what's your corporate email addy? i can forward you links to the 4 infomanager alerts, the technical support tool software release notes, and original quarantine emails. larger dial pad, increased touchscreen usability (hopefully better than the BL25 update ... has anyone tried to use backup assistant with that touchscreen? its a great example of how messed up with phone is).

you also forgot the Knack as another Samsung having problems authenticating with the Nortel network as well.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
