Joni Mitchell with horns and a sword.

...Volvo, I'd fix her ride. This story is spreading like wildfire. It's probably been seen by close to 1m people by now. That's 1m who probably won't buy a Volvo in the future.
Good for her. I've always considered Volvo to have poor reliability- Once the 800-series landed. I think the old ones were tanks but I've talked to a lot of folks who took their cars in 7-8 times a year for service, thinking that was normal.

I've never owned one, but that's always been my feeling based on the word from others.

QUOTE - "So if the OS is "clunky and geeky as hell" wouldn't you say it is wise that they only market the phone to the "geeky as hell" crowd?"

Yes. I would agree. So they are infinitely wise in creating a product that only appeals the .05% of society...and marketing to them in $100m ad campaign..

Good job Google/Verizon/Motorola. You have a great product which will seize huge amounts of market share.

2 questions -

Why isn't this product done yet? Didn't you get some basic code, which should take a team of developers 3 weeks to port over?

and...

Didn't employees come with that purchase of Torch Mobile?
Im sure there are improvements. WIFI is nice and the predictive typing has improved, but still WEIRD!
I played with the storm 2 today and it is JUST AS BAD as the first. Let me clarify that I am not just taking a crack at the device. I wanted to love it.

I spent 5 minutes with and and the fact that the screen still depress nearly 1/2 a millimeter every time you want to trigger a character or press a button is annoying. This coupled with the mechanical clicking noise (not from a speaker but from the mechanics of the screen pressing a button) is painful. It would make the same sound if you removed the speaker - its mechanics)

Sorry - just being honest but I don't need a screen to depress and click to let me know I made an entry. I have tactile nerve endings on the tips of my fingers. I now if I am in contact with a surface.
Palm Pre can be had for $125. Why get this no wi-fi device?

Come on Palm, we're pulling for you but you gotta release some killer hardware!!!!
One last thing then I will shut up about it. It's preloaded with a multimedia presentation about the car. Nothing you can't see on the web, but it's there - like a digital brochure.

This content is delete-able so you can have the entire 1GB capacity back after you are done watching the presentation.
They are not FOB's, the buttons don't depress. It is very light - just a 1 gb USB stick. I've had mine for 6 months. (they sent me two actually.)
BTW- they are 1gb sticks....
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
