I'm surprised no one's said it yet but... I'd love to see American McGee involved in this project.
[Insert some comment about the Pip-Boy running Android]
Without a doubt... the gun that my friends always hated me for in high school... the remote mine from Goldeneye.

Somehow, I was the only one of them that figured out how to detonate them in mid-air... but then again, the fact that I never told them may have had something to do with it. Oh well.
WTF? Is Capcom really so stressed for ideas at this point? How many versions of ONE GAME can they possibly come up with??? It's time to move on... TO SUPER STREET FIGHTER 2 ALPHA TURBO HD HOLO DIGITAL HDR READY 3500RPM 92MPG GAMMA+ EXTREME WITH MOTION CONTROL VS. MARVEL EXCLUDING IRON MAN BUT INCLUDING TONY STARK WITH AMAZING ARC WELDING SUPER MOVE. Seriously though, the only new fighting game that could possibly impress me would be something like Capcom vs. MK vs. Smash Bros. or any combination of those three. Hey... I can dream.
I see it this way... technology currently drives the industry, but its influence is decreasing like an inverted exponential curve and will eventually approach zero. The point being that computing power will eventually allow for completely realistic graphics, physics, and sound with steadily decreasing effort required to achieve this realism. As the need for computing power decreases, more innovation will be required by the artists - the game designers.

Gaming is currently in a transition phase similar to what film went through 90 years ago. After the initial fascination with sound (and later, color) wore off and these technologies became the norm, it was the artists and the stories they told that made celluloid a true artistic medium.

The same thing will happen with gaming. Once the ability to implement true-to-life graphics and physics with relatively little effort becomes the norm, the medium will start to rely less on the technology and more about the artisans using the technology.

To an extent, this is already happening. Games built around stories, ideas, and design (BioShock, Mass Effect) are currently some of the most popular and best-selling games whereas games that look and feel more like tech demos (Fracture, Force Unleashed) are getting less and less attention. The responsibility of innovation is shifting from the engineers (both software and hardware) to the designers; and they're starting to realize that gamers want more than just better looking versions of last-gen titles.
Remarkably underwhelmed.
ANY form of microphone is pointless without a real online presence... which Nintendo simply refuses to give us.
Are you serious? It doesn't even look like the woman in the video is having any fun. She looks pissed off that her acting career has hit rock-bottom.
I'm with you there. The separated arrangement is much more comfortable than any other controller I currently use. Should I want to play multiple consoles in a night, I've trained myself to play the Wii last since going from the Wiimote/nunchuck to a 360 controller yields a very constrained feeling. So much so that it's actually got me thinking about building a mod to separate my 360 controller into 2 pieces.
Technically, NURV is having programmers who AREN'T their employees killed, but I digress...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
