If you're having any problems with performance on the Pre aside from the occasional hiccup here and there, try webOS doctor-ing it and start fresh!
Wtf, I want my username back. Why did I have to make a new one?
I've had no problems with re-syncing after I had to replace my Pre (my fault on why it needed to be replaced, Sprint was kind enough to swap it out.) Backing up with Gmail/Outlook is a great idea with any phone, not just this one - it's always a good idea to keep your data safe somewhere else. My co-worker, who also broke his Pre (flew out of his pocket while he was on an amusement park ride...) paid for the insurance to get a new one and it also synced fine. I don't think this is a truly widespread problem, but hopefully it gets fixed ASAP.
Really odd keyboard layout, but otherwise looks like a winner.
FriendsFlow from the official app catalog and Palmbook (homebrew) are both good alternatives, and of course x.facebook.com works great on the phone as well.
While I can see how the guy kinda might have come from Warcraft, the game looks really great and it will be a day one purchase for me. I am really a sucker for guns+swords.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and Pure are both great games...the other 4 do suck though.
This is all AT&T's fault. The average person didn't know/didn't care what 3G was until AT&T wouldn't shut the fuck about it when the iPhone 3G came out. Suddenly Verizon and Sprint both started using 3G in their ad campaigns after that, and now it's coming back to bite AT&T in the ass. People "care" about 3G now, and they simply don't have the same 3G coverage as Verizon at this point, plain and simple. There's nothing misleading in the ads.
While I see what you're saying, Blizzard is a large, profitable company and I'm sure that the people involved could have donated time or Blizzard could have just paid them and taken the probably small hit in order to make 100% of the proceeds go to charity.
Why do they only donate half of the proceeds? It's a digital item with no manufacturing cost...shouldn't 100% of the proceeds be donated?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
