If I remember right, Opel and Vauxhall have been combined into one legal entity by the name of "Adam Opel GmbH"... so it's possible by referring to "9,000 Opel jobs" that includes the "Vauxhall" plants owned by the Opel entity.
GM is still making crossover vehicles as well, you know. It's possible for them to make multiple types of vehicles at the same time. *gasp*
Most of those platforms are GLOBAL platforms- if you think American engineers had no say in Epsilon, Delta, or Gamma, just to name a few, you're just fooling yourself.
I have it on good sources that peak oil will hit in the 1980s- no, the 1990s- no, the 2000s- no, look, I swear it's coming!!!
CAFE is an average- my guess is that GM hopes they can make up the difference with tiny cars like the Chevy Spark.
I don't understand why one should assume Daewoo == Crap...

I thought the rumor was that a Corsa-equivalent would follow the Insignia in coming as a Buick, so as to justify the higher price needed to make such a car profitable? But that doesn't mean GM should abandon the cheaper market, either.
I don't see why the name "Aveo" is worth keeping, but the name "Cobalt" isn't...
There is an update to the Aveo being worked on as well- GM can work on multiple cars at once, surprisingly. They're still a pretty large company, even if they've shrunk quite a bit in recent years.
I actually like how this car looks... now, I prefer to drive something bigger, so I wouldn't buy one, but I wouldn't be disgusted if I happened to see one on the road, either.
Chrome OS just seems more limited than even a netbook, but will these devices have a real advantage over a netbook?

I mean, it seems like Google just thinks the only thing anyone ever does is use the internet on a netbook- but I know for me, that's simply not the case.

I guess it's just not for me- I suppose that doesn't mean there is no market.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
