I know the unlocked E71 runs on FP1..but the AT&T E71x is suppose to run on FP2....
where's the transition effects you can find on feature pack 2? was it disabled or did AT&T remove it?
my pet's name is Choco!
I'm curious 2. I hope this is not their entire lineup. I thought a few days ago, Engadget said HTC was brining out 2 more android handsets this year? http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/03/17/htc-has-at-least-two-more-android-phones-up-its-sleeves-this-yea/
The AT&T Nokia E71x will be running S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 i've heard. With Feature Pack 2 you have the ability to choose which access points you want to set as priority which means wi-fi first, then 3g.
If you're coming from dumbphones, you're not gonna see two much difference between S60 and WinMo on a QWERTY device. Both OS's are fully customizable and have a huge array of 3rd party apps. When it comes to Internet Experience, both can install 3rd party browsers that support flash. Maybe WinMo does Office slightly better but S60 supports BES (both have support for exchange). However on the E71 you're gonna find a killer battery life and fast processing speeds...plus the stainless steel build quality of the E71 is like no other...
One thing I've noticed is that all the mobile OS's in this article seems based on touch screen technology. If I didn't know any better, I would assume that in order for a phone to be a smartphone they must have touch screen. This is quite unfair because some of the best smartphones are non-touchscreens and not everyone prefers touch-screens. For example, Blackberry's bread and butter is from their qwerty devices (like the curve, bold or upcoming niagra) and not from their Storm. Symbian S60's (which is mainly Nokia) bread and butter is their E and N series, which are also non-touch screens (aside from the N97) and not in their Express Music phones like the 5800.
Oops...tnkgrl beat me to the post.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
