It is real. And it uses 2100mhz part of the spectrum. You can get signed up you just have to find a distributor. You can also use you existing GSM phone for the service. There is a distributor network set up. If you are interested in the service or products reply for info on how to get set up
I SWEAR I READ SOME OF THE COMMENTS AND ALMOST LOSE IT. VERIZON HAS THE LARGEST 3G NETWORK REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE ADVERTISEMENTS SAY. AT&T HAS A FASTER 3G NETWORK BUT THEIR FOOTPRINT IS NIL COMPARED TO VERIZON. THE VOYAGER IS NOT A SMARTPHONE. THE OMNIA GIVES YOU THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK AT 199 AFTER MIR. THE CAMERA IS INCREDIBLE. IT ALONE IS ALMOST WORTH THE PRICE. WIN MO BLOWS OF COURSE BUT YOU CAN CHANGE THAT. THE MEMORY AND PROCESSOR SPEED MAKES FOR A FREE FLOWING INTERFACE. THE TOUCH WIZ IS GREAT AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE THE STYLUS JUST NEED TO HAVE SOME SORTA COORDINATION AND NOT HAVE FRANKFUTER FINGERS. I DONT SEE WHY WI-FI MATTERS TO YOU PEOPLE CONSIDERING 90% OF PHONES REQUIRE DATA PACKAGES ANYWAYS. I HAVE TRIED THE STORM (GARBAGE) AND EVEN THOUGH I LOVE BLACKBERRY ITS NOT THE BEST SMARTPHONE. THE TOUCH PRO IS GREAT BUT ITS NOT UNDER 200 AS THE ARTICLE ASKS. TO EVEN CONSIDER THE CENTRO IS LAUGHABLE. G1 IS ALRIGHT IF YOU GET IT UPDATED AND THE SOFTWARE STAYS STABLE. THE IPHONE IS A IPOD TOUCH WITH A PHONE IN IT SO CAN IT BE CLASSIFIED A SMARTPHONE? IF SO IS IT THE BEST CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT YOU CANT SEND MMS, HAS NO REMOVABLE BATTERY/MEMORY AND IS ON AT&T (WHERE DID CONSUMER REPORTS RATE THEM?). I VOTE OMNIA. FOR UNDER 200 ITS THE BEST YOUR GOING TO GET ALL AROUND.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
