Except that if it takes that much hardware to generate that little power, the environmental impact of building the generator may offset the green savings.
The current 3G data coverage ranking is 1) Verizon, 2) Sprint, 3) AT&T.
People gripe about how bad the original design had been. But to some degree the newness of a device that rarely needs to connect by cell may have played a part.

Phones need to always maintain contact. Data cards are also more persistent when connected. But with this there are a lot of efficiencies to be learned in how to best down-throttle during the frequent and long dead periods.
The battery life improvements don't affect performance with the radio off. Apparently the efficiencies were entirely aimed at the wireless.
@Alan: Fortunately they aren't still images, so you're covered. Actually, ASUS ought to consider a different marketing solid angle.
Go Sprin--oh, wait..
No doubt. Since seeing the Kindle DX, I've wished I could print certain articles from my laptop to an e-ink reader, much like is done generating a PDF. Y'know... instead of killing trees 'n stuff.
It's sad that I'm impressed this comment didn't make first.
Wow, you just nailed the thing I haven't been able to explain about my fascination with e-book, e-ink readers with two words: "No distractions." That really ought to be used in marketing these things as it's actually an important aspect of their appeal, IMHO.
Dear Blogsmith,

"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
