Why? Because it has a touch screen? Just so you know, LG came out with a touch screen handset SEVEN years ago. Yes, as in the year 2001! It was called the Sprint Touchpoint 3000 (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,28662,00.asp) LG had the Prada handset before the iPhone. Just because a handset has a touch screen, does not make it an iPhone rip off. If I'm not mistaken, the iPhone is a rip off of every other touch screen handset out there! Including anything Palm, HTC and Samsung. Really! Get over the Jesus phone and remember that there were cell phones with Touchscreen before the year 2007. Tool!
Again, it's not targeted towards teenage girls. It is targeted for those who do not need a full PDA device, but still want to check their E-mail, IM, do Facebook, want an MP3 Player, TeleNav, Camera, QWERTY Keypad and so much more. Just because it is not EV-DO does not mean it's automatically targeted to teens.

Besides, say it were targeted towards that demographic. Is that really a bad thing? This phone will make a killing, and it'll make Sprint and LG very happy, along with the customers who actually like this phone.
The Centro is also a PDA device geared towards those who need a full PDA device, while the Rumor is not. I would much rather buy my daughter this handset, which costs $20 less, then a full PDA phone which she does not need. She could care less about a full 320x320 display, EV-DO and other "competent groupware apps." Plus the Rumor is a lot smaller then your Centro!

Just because you do not like it, does not mean the phone is a terrible phone. It is not geared to you.

Also, do not forget that at one time you were one of those stupid teens who got excited because Micheal Night was jamming it in KIT's trunk. But now you're an adult to who thinks they are better then everyone else, just because they think differently.

Please note: Not all phones were designed with you in mind. This is one of them. Which does not make it a bad phone, but one kids and/or teens would love. And I bet this handset will sell a hell of a lot more then your Centro handset.

So bitch all you want. I just know my daughter wants this phone. Could care less about the Centro, and happens to love Veronica Mars. And also, grow up!
I do not know about you, but I'm waiting for the TV Phone with a 42inch 1080p resolution display! Now that'll be a killer handset! But then if it has the Verizon OS, it'll suck. If it's on T-Mobile, it'll suck since people hate T-Mobile. If it's on Sprint, it'll suck since people also hate Sprint. So I guess that leaves me with at&t, but then people hate at&t too, so . . . Ugh, the phone will suck then. Ugh, I hate my life!
You do realize that LG announced and launched the Prada phone before the iPhone came out. And don't forget, PDA devices have all had touch screens way before the iPhone came out. Get your facts right before you open your mouth.
It's also funny how LG made the first flip handset with an external display, and now EVERYONE does it! It's also amazing that the Ford Model T had 4 wheels, and now the BMW M5 also does! Amazing! Ooooh, and it's also amazing how Walmart sells Pop Corn, and so does Target! OMG!!!! Will this ever end? Holy cow, didn't Nokia also make non-flip phones? Because I swear that Motorola AND Samsung also make non-flip phones! Ugh . . . it never ends!
wow, iPhone this and iPhone that . . . So does that mean any phone coming out now is junk because it is not a $600 not so 3G waste of money handset? This phone is for people who would rather have a 3G handset with an FM Transmitter, which is a lot smaller and about 1/6th the price.

I just laugh, people who are "iPhone this and iPhone that" are just sheeple who have to follow the hype! I'm going to laugh when the iPhone launches with poor reception, bad internal batteries, terrible touch screen and loads of other problems from other handsets made by new handset manufacturers.

So drop your $600 for a none-3G handset and then cry when a new P.O.S. iPhone launches 3 months later.

Fall for the hype, it's pathetic really. But that's just my opinion really.
Reminds me of the VX8600.

I'm worried about battery life! A super thin phone = thin battery with 2 QVGA displays! The other RAZR could hardly hold a charge with a itty bitty display on the outside. Makes me wonder. Plus it's a Mot = P.O.S.
I don't know about you, but I'd be super ticked if I spent over $500 on an iPhone when it launches, just to find out that the second generation with 3G is out 3 to 4 months later!
XBox360! Then I can watch my girl kick my booty in some kind of version of Frogger
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
