IMO XP is old news and Vista is better in its current state... the only thing that XP is better at right now is perception... Vista got a really bad name for having so many hiccups at launch but as of RIGHT now its alot more stable and faster and downright prettier than XP. Im using XP right now on my work PC and I use Vista SP2 on my laptop til Windows 7 comes out.
Everytime I get into an arguement with an apple fanboy they bring up how vista sucks and I work in tech support and when I ask a person what OS there using they always say " Vista Unfortunately" like im gonna shun them for using it.
This is why Windows 7 launch has to be buttery smooth with absolutely no hiccups, because even if they iron it out they like they did Vista , the public perception wont change and people wont buy it and XP will live forever.

I ran the WIN7 RC for a long time and really think that MS got the concept of first impressions meaning a ton, hence why they put out wjhat maybe the worlds biggest beta test ever.
Now with there free Anti-Virus up and running and available to the public. and a viable PMP option in the ZUNE HD. Im statting to think MS is starting to get the value of marketing, aesthetics, and public perception.
yo the g1 and mytouch have glass screens... http://www.drcellphone.com/images/htc/g1screen.jpg
Yea it still cant stream live like android can.... this is the reason Ill never go apple, they give u this but you pay for that...
yea but its pretty much the truth.. Windows Mobile sucks, its slow, laggy and not user friendly (i am a former winmo user) and this is coming from an apple hater and dedicated windows pc user... I thought the world knew this? windows PC's are good but windows mobile phones suck no matter what the specs.... but dont get me wrong if windows mobile 7 ( have no faith what so ever that winmo 6.5 is gonna be anything more than a 6.0 reskin like 6.1 was with essentially the same laggy performance) can blow my mind like win 7 on a PC has, then ill retract that statement.. but honestly its pretty much public perception that winmo sucks but is great for business user even tho blackberry can do the same just slightly faster and prettier.
Bc Android is FREE and Winmo is not.....
for me the lancaster seems more of low end device, it has a fixed focus camera which means all the barcode scanner apps like shop savvy and compare everywhere WONT work as they rely on a camera Auto focus feature...And it only totes a 2.8" screen which is pretty small and gonna be cramped for touchscreening ( pretty much renders the portrait virtual qwerty useless) and it only has a 4 row keyboard.

I just think that the HTC hero might not be the answer to physical qwerty loving people but the G1 has better specs than the lancaster, I cant imagine AT&T really promoting android really heavy becuase they have the Iphone, they will prob just carry low end to middle end android devices and the lancaster is no doubt low end..

These are the g1 numbers I got with it overclocked to 528... so while not making a huge difference on average, it does make it noticably faster, so with browser optimaztion and a better hardware, Im sure android powered handsets will have no prob competing with these brand new hand sets...
yea after overclocking my g1 to 528 (default is 248) i was getting around the same speeds as the iphone 3gs and Palm Pre
Hmm wheres the mandatory home, menu, call, end, and back hardware buttons.... i think the phone is prob real but prob not running android.. maybe just propritary OS..
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
