$2k for one of these ??? You must indeed be crazy. :P
Dakota does have a point - cooked ROMs are highly overrated. The vast majority of 'em are complete and utter shit, and the developers as a general rule have zero interest in taking bug reports or fixing issues. Updating to a fresh ROM is usually one step forward and two steps back. ROM developers compete rather than collaborate, so switching to a different ROM series usually means giving up major features in exchange for others. The stock ROMs aren't a solution either - since HTC doesn't give a rat's ass about its users once your money is in its coffers, the ROMs get stagnant, fast.
The classic Zune does as well. Unicode support != Japanese fonts
@Greg: Agreed - the E71 has just enough heft to make it feel rock solid.
A mouse without a wheel? It isn't 1997 anymore.
The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are the Logitech G15 and G19 keyboards. I don't know about the G19, which has a rather large color display, but I have a G15 and SideShow is useless on it as the apps that are available make nowhere near full use of the available display space. For example, there's an Outlook SideShow plugin that's supposed to display new messages from the inbox. Trouble is, all it displays on the G15 is "1 message(s) unread. Last updated: May 20, 2009 15:00". No viewing of messages, no new message alerts, no nothing. :/
However, it would be possible for manufacturers to buy Intel's Atom/chipset bundle in addition to nVidia's chipset and simply throw away or reuse the Intel chipset. That would be ridiculously wasteful in addition to being more expensive than just going with the Intel chipset, but the nVidia graphics would be considered a major upgrade over the GMA950 (therefore allowing the OEM to charge more to make up the difference).
Also, the S10 tested includes the old 3-cell battery - if you buy an S10 now, the high-cap battery (11.1 V 4800 mAh) is practically a free upgrade.
This is nothing but a gimped version of ordinary Windows Server. Nothing to see here; move along.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
