Pathetic.

Once again, PONTIAC = Peel Off NameTag It's A Chevy.

Pontiac is no longer the Performance Division. They no longer build Excitement or Fuel for the Soul. It's all about CAR (Chevy, Again, Renamed).

Then again, after Pontiac dealer #2 (the one with the highest CSI in the area) worked on my second '04 GTO (first one = lemon law buyback because the dealership screwed it up) just before the warranty expired, I've had no fewer than 5 parts that they touched come apart or fall off (seat track, steering wheel spokes and cover, seat adjustment lever, back seat separating from the chassis).

Pontiac dealers reap what they sow... just sell me the friggin' car without a warranty and I'll be happy (if I want a larger RWD sedan for 30-35k, what are my options other than a G8? Used 5-series?)
It won't have the LS2 - that motor is effectively discontinued. And the 'vert won't be a hardtop - this came from someone who was at the focus group.

Expect a couple of V6's and a V8 to start, with a 525hp S/C'd LS8 in the top-end model (out a year later, along with the convertible).

For those bitching about the time...

concept was January 2006
greenlight for production was August 2006
Job 1 is scheduled for February 16, 2009 (car will be a 2010 model).

37 months from concept to production isn't bad for the auto industry (beating the Solstice's 39 months).... those who bring up the Challenger (also introduced as a concept in January 2006) need to reflect on Chrysler having a) a finished platform and b) a dedicated assembly plant in place when that concept was released (things that GM did not have)...
No, you DON'T...
No room at Holden's factory in Oz to build this (unless they add the third shift, which is unlikely). The Aussie dollar is also reaching record highs against the $USD.

The dimensions of this concept are supposed to mimic the size of the production Camaro. Now that the GMX-551 RWD Impala is dead, GM's Oshawa, Ontario, Canada plant has nothing officially allocated besides the Camaro.

Hmmm.... build it in Canada and export it to the States (as a Pontiac), and to Australia (as a Holden)?

GM, BUILD THIS CAR!
This model won't be brought here to the States as it's not LHD-capable.

The replacement for this model, the Huntsman chassis, will be engineered (in Australia, just like GM/Holden's Zeta) for both LHD and RHD, but that won't be out until 2011-2012 or so. No clue if it will be assembled in Oz or both there and somewhere here (the latter is more likely if the $AUD maintains its strength against the $USD)...
Camaro concept was introduced at NAIAS in January of 2006 (not 2005). The 'vert was shown in 2007. Only Camaro at NAIAS in 2008 was one of the Bumblebees - the production car won't be seen until the F-body gathering in Indianapolis in September.

Job 1 is February 2009. So you're talking 37 months.

Solstice had a similar timeline (first shown in January 2003, Job 1 was in ?April? of 2006, so more like 39 months from clean-sheet design to production. That's not bad because GM had to come up with chassis AND factories to put these together.... it's not like they were updating an existing car (as was the case with the 2005 Mustang, or the new Challenger)...
Ignore my comment about Appearance - it's wrong, it was in Desktop & Screen Saver (argh, memory is going)...
Try the Appearance control panel for the non-transparent menu bar...
The big problem with the previous version was not the interface, but the robustness of the product. Fusion came out and was worse than X1 in that department. We ended up abandoning the server product, and then Fusion itself, due to too many bugs/issues with incorrectly reporting fonts as "corrupted" when they were not. We're using Linotype FontExplorer now, and not having issues.

Before anyone flames me as an Extensis hater, I've been using Suitcase since the first version in 1987/88 (bought it from Steve Brecher at MacWorld)...
Remember the leaked union contract details that revealed a number of details on upcoming GM programs?

One of them is that the next-generation of GM V8's would include a DOHC variant. My suspicion is this is the real replacement for the Northstar/UltraV8 and that it will be available, just not in the numbers that V8's are now.

GenV promises some really significant improvements in power and economy - a far bigger jump than GenIII to GenIV...

"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
