Eguchi studied in Scandinavia, and now working for Nokia.. how Japanese can he be? Don't expect him to create real Keitai for Nokia. For years the N-series has achieved nothing in Japan, there's no felica electronic money, there's no one-seg DMB tunar, there's no support for i-mode/Y! portals at all, emoji is crippled, no chaku-uta, and they're selling at premium prices when you can get everything not found on the N-series including a fWVGA screen, scaled fonts, much better text-predictive system, and an interface that is a lot fancier and more familiar to the locals. Why bother?

Eguchi has absolutely nothing to do with Nokia's failure in Japan, he has also done nothing to prevent that.
Am actually surprised that people would complain the Touch being white? White phones are hot throughout Asia... especially Japan and Korea...
the HTC Touch Dual runs 400Mhz, about the same size only an extra slider, extra HSDPA minus WiFi
ah alright, engadgetmobile's bad :P
@RichinJapan: you are very confused, the photo is indeed a F905i, just that you will never be able to see whether it's off-centered until you swivel screen. (just like the F904i) Look at the already announced-912SH carefully, the design is clearly different though very similar. The metal strip tracing round the sides, the color scheme and the camera lens position at the back are completely different as well.
it is not exactly useful, but good for branding, they're turning concepts you see in anime and sci-fi movies into reality. don't expect it this to sell any better than the Aibo, but when aibo is not around, this kind of cliche product might be essential for their image. if sandisk can come out with the sansa shaker, why can't sony make their rolly?

it actually looks pretty cool on video, when it dances

yes i was being sarcastic, i wonder why engadgetmobile still hasn't corrected it.
I said it because a lot of Americans thought that LG and Nokia were American companies. That's from a market research concerning the most recognized brands in America the the knowledge of their origin..
Right, LG is obviously a Japanese company? That's why they have Japanese press handlers in Germany. Whereas Samsung, which is based in Japan, not Korea, must have Korean press handlers instead.
HTC really has some great stuff. The HTC Touch and now the Shift, if they can build something in between, Apple would REALLY have to worry.
also remember that this thing has 3CCD and O.I.S (optical image stabilizer)
so kudos to Panasonic.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
