[Hey HTC, hope you are reading this..]

Hopefully, this update will also solve the existing issues such as (but not limited to):

* Mysterious deletion of Contacts after Gmail-contact sync
* Ability to sync (all) Birthdays from Google Calendar to phone calendar
* Volume control (ringing/media/alarm) lag - half the time, I don't even know how loud the tones are
* Ringing volume loudness - it's way too low except for max volume
* Twitter sync that actually sync to nominated frequency
* Mail sync that actually sync to nominated frequency
* Weather sync that actually sync frequently
* Better shutter speed for the camera
* A Calendar that notifies event that will take place "today" rather than "tomorrow"
* A video player that actually works without choppiness
* Ability to recognise (all) AAC converted songs and its ID3 tags
* Ability to save apps to SD card (this will probably never happen, but heck, none of the above may either...)
Thanks for your comment Matt, but by the sound of things, I am not alone: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=75e2ac8a5955dbce&hl=en

Contacts added as "Google" under "contact type" in my Hero does sync back to Gmail; it's the contact that are added as "Phone" under "contact type" that got whip after sync....

Adding salt to the wound, my speed-dial prefix and ringtone allocated to selected contact gets whip after each sync as well...
Can HTC release the same for the HERO please?

I lose all my "Phone" contacts that I keyed into the phone after each OTA Gmail-contact sync. Not happy!

Digital Cassette Player
Still NO front facing camera for video calling though.... :o(
Totally agree!

It's taken Apple 7 years to catch up to other who's been offering the basic features like MMS, Cut & Paste, etc since 2002! I won't even mention the other 3G basics the likes of video calling, etc....

... and now, every man and their dog are starting to offer 5MP cameras, OLED screens, etc.... looks like Apple is going to be further behind if they only "update" their iPhone once every 12 months.

IF any one really needs App Store, I'd say you'd be better off getting an iPod Touch instead. Definitely cheaper and with no strings attached.
Make that 7 years and counting considering everyone else (ok, except for Android and webOS) have had videocall function since 2002... plus, EVEN Nokia is now making 8MP phones!!! Apple has a lot to catch up to...

Think I am going to ditch my iPhone and use it for app store only.... knew I should have bought an iPod Touch instead!!!
Fellow iPhone owners... don't you feel betrayed (by Apple that we are stuck with the same 'ol design for another 12 mths!) with the release of these spec-rich phones??? Grrrrrrrrrrr!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
