They do give the date as April 1.
I'm just glad DirecTV has nothing to worry about on this one.
@ToniCipriani Which is why it's always easier to go to a third party. I'm in the US but recently used a Canadian company to unlock a Blackberry. US$20 later I had a working unlock code.
@uwaga dude

Locking out features is what they used to do. They changed their ways. I have Google Maps GPS access, I'm using Visual Voicemail and not paying Verizon. Friday they get Android phones, which they don't control. Verizon is changing, we can't hold them to the past.
Actually, they include 2.13 so it's at that level at least. You might also be able to load the unofficial patches as well.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
