You are correct that high(er)-brow movies sold better to the HD-DVD crowd by about twenty percent. However it takes ten of these movies to equal the earning power of one mass market flick. Atonement has lifetime DVD sales of $20 million while the Harry Potter series has sold over $1 billion in DVDs. Like it or not, "mass market" movies are where studios make their money and across the board those sold better on blu-ray. In the months leading up to Warner's decision, those money making movies were selling at a ratio of 2:1 in favor of blu.
Does Samsung even have a wireless HDTV? I know they had a plasma a couple of years ago but did not think they had one now. I have also never seen a Vizio with this option. The only LG that I can find with a wireless connection is a much lower quality television.

You do realize that this is currently Sony's top of the line television? That they do offer many more Wal-mart priced units?

I honestly do not get why people are unwilling to pay for a nice product.
Care to elaborate?

Care to wait for a review?

Already previewed these have you?

Set it up and compared it to other units in a side by side?
I don't have access to the story immediately but the reason for switching is the cost of manufacture. Samsung was eating Sony's lunch on cost. Samsung uses the edge-lit model and it saves over $100 per unit to build. On top of that, many reviewers say the edge-lit Samsungs had a better picture.
Once they shave the price on this thing down to about $9,999.99 it will be mine.
new touch is my guess
This would be amazingly nice to have.
First of all, the standard unit is $2200. This gives you a dual core intel, 3 GB of ram, 160 GB hard drive, cd burner, card readers and all the ports you would expect. But beyond that it comes with some really nice features: carbon-fiber chassis; arguably the best laptop keyboard made, XBrite screen that is gorgeous, and a very nice trackpad. You will not get into the 4k price range unless you add a bunch of options to it. Notice that Nilay wrote "FULLY KITTED-OUT $4,450 price".

Some people are so blinded by hate for Sony that they cannot admit when a quality product is worth its price. I suggest he probably has never seen one much less ever used one.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
