The word Colombia has to be one of the most commonly mispelled words. The spell checkers don't pick it up because Columbia does exist as a word. Annoys me also when I see it mispelled.
Would this work with Pandora?
that looks more like an old dell desktop next to the xbox.
With those prices, you are better off either jailbreaking your phone, or buying an unlocked one in Europe if you are going to be there an extended period of time.
The issue was that they upgraded the database to a newer version and something became corrupt. Unfortunately, the corruption was not visible until they hit the 4.5 gb default max. So since the upgrade they were backing up corrupt data and the problem didn't become apparent until a week later. By then the backups themselves were corrupt.

No way to foresee something like that. Only way would be to have a script that adds dummy records to a test database to see if any corruption shows when it hits the limit. This would be done before deployment to production.
Happy Birthday! I check your site just about everyday to get a quick pulse on what's out there in the tech world. Even buy some of the stuff you review from time to time. Keep up the good work guys!!!! and gals too.
Actually AACS hasn't been cracked. Each movie has to have it's key extraced on a compromised player by retrieving it from memory. That is not a crack. Last count there were 7 Bray movie keys available already.

As for BD+, no movie title uses that yet and i don't there are any players that support it, except maybe the PS3. Also, from the little I have been reading, BD+ will be a hacker's dream. Once hacked, they will have total access to the player, bypassing AACS totally.
it's sad to see these new services saying near dvd quality. first it was itunes, now netflix.

either way, i have moved on to HD. i simply refuse to watch movies unless they are in HD. for now this limits me to using an HD Tivo, but soon I'll be getting an Xbox 360 with the hd-dvd drive and at that point will sign up with netflix or blockbuster again.
a microsoft employee who spoke with LG was told that this product wouldn't last too long before a compliant version was released.
i was all gungo-ho for movie downloads like 1-2 years ago. now that hd-dvd/b-ray is here, no desire for dvd quality anymore. hd all the way or bust!

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
