You can also say the same thing about Android. The bare UI was very ordinary. Hence HTC comes in and rescue it with is Sense UI and that makes all the difference.
I would like to see a pure plug-in Electric SWIFT.
No, it is in fact easier to read the screen when tilted if the phone is placed on the table.
Last time I heard, the much adored fruit phone is also made by some cheap chinese manufacturers using cheap labour.
Have been using HTC Touch Pro 2 running WM6.1 and it runs well. HTC Touch HD2 running WM6.5 and TouchFLO 2.5 should be fantastic. Many Apple fans and Android fans are so jealous that they will say anything to discredit this phone. I'd say don't blindly follow others. Make up your own mind.
Put in a real OS Windows Mobile 6.5, add the HTC TouchFLO user interface and I am sold. The current smartphones on the market all have crappy camera. This phone got a decent lens and sensor so it is very promising. And 720p video recording. That is a real bonus.
Not sure what's wrong with the stylus and resistive screen. All the tablet PCs to date have a stylus and resistive screen. It makes handwriting writing and drawing natural. Great for use in a classroom for notetaking. A capcitive screen is great for simple point and click on large buttons. But on a large sreen like this tablet, the buttons are large enough to click anyway, resisitve or capacitive. Accuracy of resistive screen is more important for me here.
Just got my HTC Touch Pro 2 and am quite happy with the speed. But if this phone runs 3 times faster, I wouldn't complaint :) HD2 is definitely a worthy upgrade to HD.

The TouchFLO 3D keeps getting better and better. It is amazing how a technology company like HTC manages to create a very nice UI that would put many companies to shame. No, I don't just mean MS. Apple too. Go HTC!
It would be interesting to see how good this CMOS sensor is when compared to the CCD sensor that most of the compact digital cameras are using these days. I hope this CMOS sensor can live up to its claim and deliver good image/video quality that is lacking in most compact digtital cameras.

And I don't mind the resolution is 10 Mpx as that is already way too high for most app. Again it is image quality, not resolution that I want.

Finally I wish Sony would support SD memory card. But that is a wishful thinking, unfortunately.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
