@ChalupaFiend

I have owned one of these for a little over a month.

First of all I got mine from here ($40):

No problems whatsoever in dealing with them but then again it was just the one transaction.

Overall impressions: Amazing device for the money.

Remember, the key thing to remember is that for the money, this thing rocks. The keypad is not the best you've ever used and the navigation arrows are positioned strange but these are really easy to get over. The trackpad works splendidly, it does have great range (but I benefitted even more by putting a USB extension cable on the receiver so it wasn't behind my PC). It lights up, charges via miniUSB, the battery lasts a great deal of time, and despite its width and my average sized hands (a bit on the small side really) you can use the mouse trackpad functionality with one hand.

This was my answer to an ATI Remote Wonder that isn't supported on Windows 7. People claim to have gotten old drivers for that remote to work on Win7 but I tried every combo of driver install methods out there to no avail.

If they could combine that little nub-style mouse control that the Remote Wonder had and revamp the layout of the arrow keys this would be amazing.

That being said though, for $40 you will love this thing.

Don't forget Nova on the Microsoft Internet TV. Tons of awesome, sometimes artsy, sometimes uber nerdy documentaries :D
Moto has always put out great hardware. Its a shame though that it took them sooo long to realize that they have only ever been a good hardware company. Software has never been their forte but due to the laziness of the decision makers. They kept the same archaic, limp-dick OS on their devices because it was easier than having to think up something new. As a result their software engineers are there to support legacy software instead of making things better.

Hardware engineers are always having to adapt to new concepts/technologies. If their SW guys were forced to do the same Moto would have put more compelling devices out and not lost their ass the way they did. I know we can't forget the whole argument about them resting on their laurels with the RAZR either but regardless, I guess its good to see that they are making positive steps towards NOT putting more folks out of work.

Toodles,
Former Moto
I second Kurt's opinion. I mean unless you are constantly typing stuff out on your couch this EFO wireless keyboard is the shizzle especially considering the low cost. Yes of course button layout could be better, the keyboard takes a little getting used to but all in all it is easy to overlook its minor shortcomings when you consider its form factor, the fact that its backlit the fact that it has an actual keyboard (unlike the glide thingy above) and lets not forget.....its only $40
I'd rather just let you sleep. Or smother you with your own pillow I haven't decided.

If the technology doesn't interest you then why do you f*cking waste your time commenting?
That's like saying "you're fat because you eat too much."

No shit dude....got any other original gems you want to share with us?
Isn't this all a matter of perspective? As far as we know most major efforts to help people in emerging countries have usually been by way of food/clothing types of donations. That is a great thing for sure, but that isn't going to go very far towards creating societal change. Sally Struthers was "feeding the children" close to a full generation ago but still, we have kids on TV with bloated bellies and flies in their faces.

Arguably, the laptop (aka education) donations are going to do far more to create the long lasting change their society/culture/whatever needs to progress.

Lets put it this way.....we've been trying the "food" thing for awhile and from a distance, it doesn't seem to make their lives much better (besides maybe keeping them alive). Maybe the computer thing will. It's Long term vs. Short term thinking. Neither one is necessarily better than the other. Perhaps together they will one day form like Voltron and defeat the Rancor of starvation and the Mumm-Ra of 3rd world oppression.
Dick,

If I know someone with analog OTA I'm willing to bet I can't send them a link to available online resources.
Actually RIM set up shop near Schaumburg too. Started poaching folks from Libertyville late last year.
Anyone dumb enough to "case" a restaurant called Los Tres Amigos and maybe even eat there is most likely dumb enough to steal an Insignia.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
