so i think the issue here is that drm on files that you "buy" like those on itunes just didnt work. it didnt make any sense. at all. but, like you said, if it takes drm for a subscription service to exist, you might be able to convince me.
@peterf

well, actually, a gps device is just a serial device that spits out strings of a certain format. so really, you could whip up a script in, say, python, and simply output a properly formatted GPS string placing you in the US very easily. i guess the microcell'd have to be connected to the computer for it to work, but it's just an idea. its easier than it may seem...
a friend of mine JUST replaced his last week with this exact problem. the vzw store (after making us wait 2 hours!) told us they couldnt do anything and to call technical support. doing that, they did send a new phone rather quickly, so calling tech support is my suggestion to people who have this problem. but yeah, this problem dos seem very rampant as most of the in-store tech demos that get a lot of use have this problem.
yes, this is the new ipod invisa. it's so small you can't even see it and it holds every picture ever taken.....ever.

:P
thats your mind being blown away, baby!
and if that doesn't impress you, they have MODEL NUMBERS, too!

ive loved following asimo's development over the past 10 years or so. it really is an amazing robot when you see it up close.

also, im surprised no one's made an AWESOME-O comment yet...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
