Maybe the change of heart was predicated on a good hard look at whatever program they were planning on replacing Trauma with.

And Europa, I second your sentiment on Life--I was just thinking this morning how much I still miss it. I don't understand why it couldn't have moved over to USA.

I don't necessarily mind the revolving door of cast members on this show, I just wish they would make a bit of an effort to create some real closure for the characters, especially in the case of Goren and Eames, who were there from the beginning.

Having a line or two of tossed-off dialogue to explain the departure of two long-standing characters seems disrespectful, but that's how these things typically get handled in L&O world.

Fringe is doing worse this season because FOX idiotically moved it to Thursdays. There are already way too many other popular shows on Thursdays; they should have left it on Tuesdays and let it keep/build its audience. It would be a real shame if they cancel it, as the show is only getting better.

FOX often scrambles the schedule when January comes around, so it may yet get moved again. But you have to wonder who is getting paid to implement their "throw it at the wall and see what sticks" programming strategy.

Re: football--CBS is contractually obligated to broadcast the games, which means show them all the way to the end. The later games start at either 4:05 or 4:15 (I don't know why they are staggered), so if there's a game that starts at 4:15 that happens to go into overtime, as was the case with yesterday's Bills-Jets game, CBS has to continue to broadcast the game until it ends.

A few years back FOX gave up on trying to program before 8 PM eastern time on Sundays during football season for this exact reason. Now, when the late game ends they do The OT, which is a wrap-up show, until 8 PM. I wish CBS would take a cue from this and do a shortened version of 60 Minutes to fill the time until 8 PM. They could compensate for this by doing a "bonus edition" of 60 Minutes somewhere else during the week.

I saw Kathy live last year in Boston, and it was a great show. She kept the laughs flying at us for almost an hour and 45 minutes. Ricky Gervais was making Invention of Lying in the area at the time, and I saw him at the bar before the show.

Well, my mother watches all of the CSI's, so I imagine her brain is going to short-circuit from all the excitement.

I watched the first season of Miami and got partway into the second before it finally occurred to me that it was much more of a throwback to old-school cop shows like Kojak, and that I didn't need to watch it anymore. I made it through about half of season one of NY, and now I only watch what I like to refer to as CSI: Original Recipe."

But I guess I'll have to watch all three of these for the whole story to make sense. Sigh...

You mixed up those premiere months: V is November, Human Target is January.
