Why would do this? Call it anything but Thinkpad. How am I going to recommend a Thinkpad to anyone when this kind of crap carries the name?

X210s is where it will be. Not this.
B&W sold out. This yet another piece of evidence.

Aliasfox: They just plain sold out. There's a certain amount of pride in making your products in your home land. These people have lost their way. 800 series made in China? Terrible. Not at what they cost for one thing.

Yeah they are becoming another B&O and it disgusts me.

Oh well, I was leaning towards ATC myself, so this doesn't make much of a difference to me.
AT&T needs to die. They have no business selling laptops. Just die down to the dumb ISP you are.
The launch iPhone was a joke. It couldn't even save a calendar entry. The iPhone OS didn't really become stable until 2.1. Then it didn't really catch up with basic current smartphone functionality until 3.0.

Right now it is a great OS I will admit and I use it everyday, but it only really came into being this year. It still needs to work out multitasking some time soon.
Android will kick your butt!
Yeah this is for sure. Both Vista and 7 cannot come up to XP in battery frugality in any machine. This includes regular laptops even those optimized for power savings like ultraportables. Every time they release a new OS they "blah blah blah" about all these power saving features and better power management but every time the actual power consumption goes up.

I wish they would stop marketing out of their asses.
Please be about $500 or less.
I must admit, well said.
This is why I buy Thinkpad.
^^^ So basically a cheaper, worse X-series. Bad idea. This kind of thing dilutes the Thinkpad brand. I'll find it hard to recommend a Thinkpad anymore without having to explain the whole situation out.

In fact that they call it "X(whatever)" right there dilutes even the X-series brand. I used to be able to tell anyone to go get an X-series, and now I can't say that anymore.

For their own sakes they better give this a different line name at least.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
