If you want to reach Wal-Mart customers you need to get your product into Wal-Mart. If Wal-Mart doesn't want to sell porn products (and this is their choice) and you make a porn product then you will not be able to reach Wal-Mart customers. Now substitute "iPhone" where you see "Wal-Mart" in the preceding sentences. I don't see where this is really an issue.
Sounds like "UpStage" is a dig at the iPhone...
So are you saying we're going to start seeing people walking around with their Bluetooth iPods wrapped around their ears even though they are not talking to anyone, nor expecting to make a call, nor expecting to receive a call nor listening to music? ;-)
My guess is that Cisco is just flexing some muscle because they realize how huge this is going to be. They probably agreed in good faith and then realized "Holy crap! This thing is going to be huge...how can we get MORE money?"

Whatever - it's just a name - I say if Cisco wants to screw around Apple should just tweak the name. Bottom line is the product is amazing and the name really doesn't matter anymore. People bought Blackberry's - what a retarded name that is!
That BROWN one is really gonna show Apple! I already planning on putting my iPod on eBay. It's so obvious to me that everyone is going to want a BROWN Zune! Reminds me of shoes I wore as a kid...nostalgia...see...that sells! WTF! BROWN?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
