ATT is plain stupid for that lawsuit. The commercial and maps in the commercial specifically say "3G", so obviously VZW is just comparing 3G coverage, not 2G coverage. Therefore, there is nothing misleading. ATT should just be embarassed and do something to update their 3G coverage.
Yeah, I'm not in to regular phones anymore, but I gotta admit, that thing is hot.
So how do we know whether or not this is the Touch Diamond or the Whitestone?
So is this the Whitestone, or the Touch Diamond? Or are those the same phones?
@ Anton Walhman,

If what you say is true, why would VZW not want wifi on their Blackberries? How do they stand to profit from it, with them requiring a data package on blackberries anyway? You say they didn't want it, which makes no sense, but you don't say why. Then you say it's because VZW is the largest carrier, that NO OTHER CDMA Carrier in the world has ever offered even one CDMA Blackberry with wifi, because VZW says no, which is also ridiculous.
What you've said is spot on. VZW requires a data plan on all smartphones and blackberries anyway, regardless of wifi or not, plus winmo devices for VZW have wifi, and still require the data plan, and no other CDMA carrier has a cdma blackberry with wifi, yet, they have windows mobile devices with wifi. So, although some people like to say, VZW doesn't want wifi, or they are doing it for greed, obviously, that is not true, or we'd see at least one CDMA blackberry for at least one of the other cdma carriers with wifi and if VZW was blocking it out of greed, they wouldn't allow wifi on their windows mobile devices.
I own an Iphone, Iphone 3G, 9530 Storm, and a BB Curve. The Storm would easily be the best of the bunch, if they could stop the freezes/lockups, random reboots, and a few other smaller issues. I love the camera, speakerphone, media player, and all of the other features. Navigation and typing are great to me. I like the click through touch screen. The Iphone has a better browser and media player, but not by much. The Iphone also has a more intuitive os, but the Storm's is not bad. The Storm is a better all around phone, and definitely better for typing.
I have an ATT acct with the Iphone, and have a VZW acct with the Storm. I've had the Storm since day one and I love the phone. It has some software issues, and many have been fixed, but not all issues yet. This phone does everything that I want it to do, unlike my Iphone 3G. The Iphone has an awesome interface, wonderful games and apps, and the best browser in the business. However, admittedly, I get better call quality, speakerphone quality, mms, bluetooth, and just all of the other perks of blackberry devices, but with a nice touch screen. Again, it's not perfect, and still has it's issues. But then again, my Iphone, and my Iphone 3G had many many software issues, and features missing that I can now get on my Storm, such as copy n paste and a better camera with flash. I'm happy.
Is it a sin to have impure thoughts about a phone? lol
@CB17,

"AT&T already does this." uhh, no they do not. There's not one wireless provider who does this in the U.S. for a regular postpaid account, except for Metropcs, but they don't count.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
