I don't think that's a software issue - the BB does not have data over Bluetooth -- it's exclusively for voice due to security issues. The Berry is, after all, designed as an enterprise device.

On another note: Can someone explain why I want to replace PocketMac with this?
I agree that this seems like a rather pervasive problem. But what hasn't been demonstrated to my satisfaction is that the swelling is a safety issue (rather than just a product quality issue). Where is the substantiation that swelling is the precursor of explosion?
