ANY COMMENT (want zune)
Dear sony,

where is the Clie' Droid? I want a flip and fold capacitive phone....
So engadget is so lazy they dont answer the question themselves? THE QUESTION CAN BE ANSWERED ONLY WITH ANOTHER QUESTION : How Soon will The Moment get an Android 2.0 upgrade(and it is a matter of how soon... RIGHT SAMSUNG???!?)?

im in basically the same situation
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG NEED NEED NEED NEED NEED NEED NEED NEED

WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT
wow... what a tool.... Lol... "OMFG MY OPINIONS PWNZERIZES ALL IPHONE RULEZZ OMGGGGG"
STFU!

Not everyone likes the terrible virtual keyboard on the iPhone, etc, Its preference, your an idiot, Please walk into oncoming traffic
GUYS ITS OBVIOUSLY A PLOY TO KEEP CUSTOMERS

THE INSTINCT OS IS TERRIBLE! THEY ARE PRICING IT SO THAT SPRINT CUSTOMERS NEVER BUY IT AND AS A RESULT STAY WITH SPRINT!

they DONT WANT their customers to buy the instinct HD because they would LEAVE SPRINT on pure principle after using a Pre or iPhone in comparison! lol

save yourself from the terrible java based Faux-OS and get Pre (Pre FTW!)
itunes is the worlds go-to place for music, it was pretty much a monopoly for a while

users are getting tired of installing diffirent players and plugins etc that need to be kept updated seperately etc.

apple could have just left it alone but the didnt they actively disconnected the pre, You dont see them actively disconnecting any 3rd party syncing software for RIMM etc do you? They (apple) is using that small diffirence to make it seem like Palm is in the wrong.

Why is it wrong for Palm to make your computer think its an ipod in media mode? what are 90%+ of mp3 accessories and software etc designed to work with? iPods!

Agreed to the above comment "microsoft was sucessful because they were open to all products

APPLE should just break down and ALLOW OTHER COMPANIES TO SUBMIT DRIVERS ETC FOR THEIR PHONES AND MEDIA PLAYERS FOR A SMALL FEE TO BE INCLUDED WITH ITUNES! So that they WORK NAITIVELY!

but apple DOESNT WANT THAT thats the thing, they have a good hold on MP3 players and Phones now and everyone in the US with a computer has used iTunes before, So their not going to allow anyone else to have the advantage of familiarity....

love it, love everything about it, getting it, buying stock, love it
Alright, Ive owned the Pre Since The pre-launch party in LA, And heres what i have to say

Keyboard- At first i thought it was a bit small, but then it kind of "broke in" and i really have no problem with it now, If it were bigger yeah it would make it a bit easier, but id rather have the slight "upcurve" (like a smile) of the keyboard go away as my one-handed-operation doesnt like that

Apps- More of them, I thought they promised 1000 apps in the first month? MORE APPS, i havent seen a SINGLE new app release in over 2 weeks... so.. I know the developer program was originally limited to only 100 or so devs but still that should mean at least 60 apps by now... OPEN IT UP PALM

Browsing- amazing, When flash comes it will be that much better and i know palm will do it right.

The only thing i would say is i wish there was a way (maybe a side button toggle or something) to make it so the screen DOESNT rotate, because sometimes i wake up and check my email to make sure nothing important has come up, And if my head is lying down and my pre is sideways, it things im standing up... so i have to turn my head... (major inconvienience;-)

Phone calls- Great quality, Good signal, better actually then my old instinct, Only one caveat, if you use your shoulder to hold it against your cheek to make calls, you can sometimes block the mic (on the front bottom of the top portion of the phone) and that makes you sound like and underwater robot to the other person, so you either have to finagle around that mic hole or not hold it with your shoulder and have a free hand for it.

Screen ... Amazing. i love the crisp colors and i just really love the interface and how it pops on the screen.

Ringtones... you can set music, but you cant change the sound it makes when you get a text or notification. default tone is a bit weak.
(Dear palm, as i know you should read this, and if you arent reading this then you should be because this is what all of your customers think of your product, I have a horde of natural instruments that fit the theme of the pre very nicely if you guys want me to come down to Sunnyvale and record them for a future update free of charge id love to do so contact me at ive always got mail aht gmail dot com)

camera, Sell a new touchstone backing (or include it for free with the touchstone seeming as everyone has heard how little it costs to make and how little it would cost to make this) with a bigger better lens.

Vibrate- make it customizable, some phones had it as a setting i think it should be a mini-app, Set the vibrate to a pattern you tap out on the screen i just like being able to distinguish between text's, calls, and notifcations before i pull out my phone.

Thats pretty much it , i really like the phone MORE APPS would make a HUGE diffirence seeming as it has the same processor and graphics chipset as the 3GS we have a good baseline to expect. again OPEN THE SDK.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
