Why would I possibly want a new iPhone? I'm looking forward to true synching. The old Nokia/Symbian/iSync combo did it's thing somewhat acceptably, but I'd love to say goodbye to mismatched contact fields, missing calendar notes, etc. Can't wait to get one; just a little short on ching these past few months. On top of that, my G2 iPod's screen is slowly but surely picking up lines of dead pixels, and battery life is getting mighty short these days... don't really want to replace it (the battery) again. But really these are just fringe issues compared to finally getting the device I've been swearing will happen for years, despite repeated denials from Cupertino, and assorted naysayers.
The shuffle IS too funny.
2nd generation iPhone: Obviously already under development. If not 3rd! Even Apple's most vocal detractors wouldn't doubt this. It's all about keeping ahead for Apple.
Lower price points: Yes over time, unless the subsequent gen's capabilities warrant keeping the premium price, such as greatly increased memory capacity, allowing for what I believe should be one of Apple's ultimate goals; truly being able to load and run dektop class applications on a phone sized device. If anyone can work the gui magic that something like that would require, I would bet on Apple to be the leading contender. My timeframe guess? Less than 8 years, if battery, memory, connectivity and display technology keep making the gains they have in the last 8.
Since no one else wants it, I can find it a good home.
Mmm Hmm, Mmm Hmm, Yep, I want one.
Don't make me act all freaked out like "pimp my ride" just happened to "show up". I just need a new phone, and this one will do nicely.
Is it my turn yet?
"...lighter and thinner than the current MacBook Pros, but will still have all the frills you've come to expect from a rumor..."
I love you guys... and I haven't even been drinking! :c)
Wow, Apple really went all-out with this one. Just rendering those deep blacks in a holographic field is a major breakthrough. Or was tahat a reality distortion field? either way I'm ready to buy!
Re #2: Don't forget about the somewhat great, but ugly and bad keypadded 3600-3360.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
