Nobody mentioned anything about a "cannon". Firing a laser doesn't require a gun. This is like sonar, except with beams of light instead of sound waves. They bounce back, the drone calculates shapes based on the time it takes for each beam to return. The laser takes pictures.
I too am puzzled by the use of a "stand-in". Perhaps they don't even want to show folks the real device to tempt them?
That's definitely what she said.
"After using the AllSpark on his XBox 360, Sam realized what a bad idea that was..."
I think the point of this article was the confirmed _release date_, not the existence of the bundle. Since Darren linked to the engadget post from September 15th (that whole 'month ago' you mentioned...) it looks like he's aware that a MW2 bundle is not anything new. Until now I have not seen anything on engadget with a release date. If I missed that then please link it up. Link to the original engadget post below...

The white Bold "goes down" ? Hmmm...
I don't fully understand where *this* ad is going. But it seems they aren't aware of the possible problems attached to cultural/ethnic references. Between the "nigerian millionaire" issue in the price drop commercials and now this, they are really digging a PR hole for themselves. I can't even argue for them because I have no idea what would motivate these decisions...
Ditto. If anyone can tell me who it's by/where to find others, I will give them a sandwich.

And possibly uprank their comment as many times as allowed :D
Supposedly, a version called the "Essex" is in testing for release. It's the Tour with all the same features + wi-fi.

P.S: Hey Chris (Ziegler), I may have found a quick typo in the article. I think a word is missing in between "percentage" and "the" in the quote from the Verizon response.

I wish I had a way to just send it to you instead of jacking the comments :( Sorry Frozen72...

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
