Gregory Smith (Ephram)from the WB's now deceased drama Everwood has used a black Treo 650 since November or so.

Everwood was one of those shows that was big on product placement, so Ephram would mention the fact that he was ________ (insert adj) on his Palm Treo 650. Everytime he pointed that out I'd think to myself WTF, it's black - that's not a Treo!

You obviously didn't get my sarcasm, dick. Gentrification is the greatest thing Philadelphia's city council could've done to that area. As far as "identifying with the area", I'm white and have no intention of mingling with an of the people in that area -- the people in North Philly could drop off the face of this earth for all I care, they are nothing but a drain on society. But as I said, this project really isn't for those people. It's to perpetuate gentrification in the area, which is a great thing for anyone who values their life.
I live in Philly. Actually, I lived in le ghetto of Philly last year while on campus at Temple University. I can tell you first hand that Philadelphia DOES NOT give a shit about the low income community. Philadelphia is in the process of gentrifying this area especially, North Philadelphia, and this PhillyFi project is one of their tactics for attracting new business and investment into the area. The only problem is that the city government just won't come out and say it. Hell, they might as well. As if the people here don't hate them enough.

As for myself... I'm college student with my parents paying my tuition. Just means I can add $20 more to my disposable income a month. Right on!
Looks like someone had as much success with his suicide attempt as the Gizmondo product did in with the general public.
I see this glass half full.

At least they are showing some improvement and support for the iPod itself, via the new iPod updator. I've been waiting for a line out adjustment feature for the past two years. Everytime I hook my iPod up to my Pioneer headunit I have to go into the eq settings on the iPod and turn off the bass because the sound is terrible when processed twice.

This crap item that no one will buy at least prolonged the life of my 5G iPod another month or so.
For some reason I don't think this product is the video iPod, but instead a tablet device of some sort. This device could run a new mobile version of OSx (could be a step toward the iPhone). If you look back on the patent pictures of that onscreen keyboard it seems to look proportioned to this unit. I think Apple had enough problems with cosmetic issues on the new iPods. They know the masses aren't ready for touchscreens (And I'm sure they aren't ready for the lawsuits). This unit will be for the computer people, not so much the iPod/Everyday media device people.
Let's give this a try!
If you people want real (read: accurate) info on the phone, head over to HowardForums. As far as what this phone is worth, I just sold it on ebay for $650, after buying it for $247 on the Premier site. The phone seems like a solid device, however, my only concern would be with the stylus. The stylus is retractable and is located on the bottom of the device. It seemed as though it would be very easy for it to fall out. My other gripe would be with the one handed functionality of the device. I just bought the HTC Prophet with the money I made from the 8125 and it has both the "Windows" and "Ok" keys, which are extremely handy for one hand use. On the downside, the HTC Prophet is about $650 via it's carnation as the I-mate JAMin. My verdict for someone on a tighter, more reasonable budget would be to definitely consider the 8125.
$500-550? I don't think so. The phone will sell for $650-$680 via MMB & Expansys. Expansys says the phone will be ready to be shipped the first week of March.

"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
