oh, well, got a little confused, forgot this was the 'orb, too' entry...
ok, orb: integrating orb? the orb server? or only the client? the client, ok, sure, whatfor would we need the server, stupid question anyway. wait a minute, the orb client? a webbrowser that is capable of launching streaming links for either rstp and/or mms protocols? i wish i had such a web browser and media player on my 'non-internet edition' n80. maybe it has...?
seriously, i would not have any problem with nokia or third party releasing a dedicated orb client for s60 3rd, or even the server part, but this looks like first they sell the browser and realplayer as browser and realplayer, then as orb client.
"Making an Internet call with the Nokia N80 Internet Edition is as easy as making a regular voice call only the call is carried over WLAN. The VoIP framework (based on the SIP protocol) is integrated into the Nokia user interface, and the Nokia N80 Internet Edition is allows for downloading compatible third party internet call applications." [1]
this is exactly the same as stated for regular n80, with 'for downloading compatible third party internet call applications' implying 'no voip client included'! so whats new here?
other 'extra' functionality is either included with regular n80 firmware 4.x and/or available for free.
"The Nokia N80 Internet Edition comes in two stylish colors, patina bronze and pearl black, [...]" [1]
'new color'... looking at [2] this seems just like that silver 'regular' n80 (sold as 'brushed steel')
i even think the n80 internet edition and regular n80 are exactly the same. 'internet edition' up yours, marketing geniusses.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
