hmm, I know the maccast has notes in the podcast that are viewable on the iphone (i read them a lot)... maybe the iphone only supports AAC based notes? no clue.
I sold my 30GB iPod Video (5.5gen) when I got my 16GB iPhone 3g. Besides the the space being cut in half, the biggest thing I missed was 2x on audiobooks!

I love 2x because it forces you to process faster and really focus on what is being said. At my previous job I was on the road a lot, so listening to audiobooks on my ipod was amazing.

Actually, it was listening to Getting Things Done and the 4 Hour Work Week that got me out of that job and and pushed me to be an Apple Specialist for a local small business and enterprise level Apple-centric consulting firm.

Glad the feature has been added to the iPhone, it seems to be working well so far.

to response one:

ok, ok. I got carried away on the "enhancing my experience, I will give you that... sorry.

and to response two:

But, Honestly, "a mine field" come on... I haven't had problems with the items you are siting... accidentally clicking on an "x" that is just lazy window dragging.
Ok, I don't see your point at all. The title bar still acts as it should.

1) double click anywhere at the top and you get minimize (use this all the time)
2)it is easy to move tabs around
3) you can still easily move the window around with click and drag...

What functionality have you lost? for me. none.
Also, on a 13" MacBook, the added browser real estate rocks.

Tabs are a relatively new concept in the world of windowed UI. I think it is a powerful tool and needs rethinking. Safari and Crome are bold (and I think wise) moves on the part of UI.

It really bothers me when we, as the Apple community, want Apple to innovate, yet a large part of the community (the ones who have been around for a while) bitch and complain any time things are changed.

open your mind, try it out, and see if it REALLY messes up your workflow.
It has actually enhanced mine. I just think about using the new tools in a new way.

My vote is YES for tabbed title bar.
I really like the new safari. I am most definitely a multi-browser user, but I think the new interface is a much better use of screen real estate.

My only grip was that I had to edit a plist to make 1password work properly, but no big deal.
no backup?!?!
This is important data on a drive and there is no backup?
Seriously? Seriously?

I know it takes experiences like this to hit home to a lot of people (myself included), but when it happened to me I wasn't making a living off my data.

Data on a harddrive is not safe, 1 backup is minimum, diverse backups are key.

If you living depends on it, freaking backup. Spend the extra $150 and get a second local drive, THEN use JungleDisk, DropCopy, or your own offisite server and backup the critical stuff.

There are two types of drives in this world.

1) Those that have failed.
and
2) Those that will fail.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
