Here's my take on the snazy 9900; it's just like the 9800.. You would be fooled to think that there were HUGE differences in these two models, really all it is is genuinely an Upgrade to the 9800; everything you thought would be better of the 9800 transcends itself on the 9900. I ravished and fantasized about upgrading to this model. I however got the chance to play with it before we launched it and realized that all my high hopes for this gadget were all let down. Yes, the phone is thinner, but I suppose to thinness compensates for its width. This thing feels like a brick in your hands, and I have big hands for a girl. Totally not what I expected. The menu style gives it more of a sidekick feel, but not much different. It is WMA/MP3 capable, but if you work for VZW you know how to make your non-MP3 VCast Music LG-VX9800 become a MP3/WMA capable phone! ;)
I hate the hinge on this thing, it completely makes the screen look almost hidden, you can not have the phone flipped open and it be steady with the counter top. That's a problem, and the memory card calls for a Micro SD as opposed to The V's Mini SD; big bummer to those of us who have spent a few bucks on a 1G memory card!!
6. Does anyone know if this will have aim preloaded so you dont have to add ur buddies. like the sidekick has?

Yes it does, It's called Mobile IM- it includes Yahoo, Msn and AOL Messenger. This phone also has V-Cast Music/V-Cast Video, Mobile Web 2.0, I'm sure it will have Wireless Sync capabilities, like the LG-VX9800 (aka. The V), as well as VZ-Navigator. Probalbly be able to use it as a modem w/ Broadband Access Connect. Uhm Uhm, There's alot. Undetermined, but working for VZW can guarantee it will have those, since they're standard on all VCAST capable music phones. Maybe this will pick up MP3 and WMA capabilities like the Chocolate. Hmm, we will see! Expect this puppy out no later than December. It will probably be out before Thanksgiving, no promises, and no date exactly!

I hate when customers come into VZW and ask me what's wrong w/ their phone, and turns out it has this. We aren't trained to know what exactly causes this to happen, so don't assume that we're trying to get something out of you. Don't charge your phone in the bathroom, kitchen, or anywhere moisture could be present. Don't leave your phone in the car on a very hot day. Think of a phone as a computer, essentially that's what it is... Would you take your laptop with you inside of the shower? Would you leave a laptop hanging out on your front seat, as the sun rays hit it through your glass windshield? NO! so don't do the same with your phone either! If you actually look at your Insurance Terms and Conditions you will see that moisture isn't the only culprit to void your manufacture warranty...
I work for VZW; saw the phone a few months back when a Casio rep came to show us; it's pretty nice, I get a kick out of the stickers (place ear here to listen to sound); something to that extent, it's dummy proof, I can say that! Just be careful because not all phones can resist, although this one can! Oh, be sure to add insurance in case you drop it, and it does break!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
