why is it that when Nintendo screws up (which they obviously did with the wiimote), engadget praises their solutions... but when Sony screws up, engadget bashes them into next year. It's not that I'm a Sony fanboy, I would just prefer some balance in the reporting.
I don't see the problem with it... since I always use my TV as a computer monitor, it's pretty frickin awesome to have that kind of resolution when I'm a little bit closer to the screen. Nobody scoffed at Dell for having a 2560x1600 on their 30" display. The only real difference is it said "Computer Monitor" and not "Television Monitor." Hmmm, is that finally the smell of convergence coming on?
I heard RIM is suing Dole next for selling blackberries at the supermarket. There are also rumors that they're gonna sue them for selling blueberries, strawberries, boysenberries and anything else that has the berry name. No word yet, however, if they're gonna sue the Black Eyed Peas.
This isn't so bad because it now it says it has "WCDMA HSDPA 850/1900/2100 MHz" which would mean it'll work on Cingular's 3G network (if I'm reading it correctly). This WAS the only thing on the spec sheet that was lacking on the phone. Word.
it'll happen... look at the PC. the PC started as a simple word processor and spreadsheet. after many years, it's evolved as a home theater, arcade, stereo system, mailbox, magazine, phone, etc etc. people were saying that computers will never replace those things not that long ago. cell phones are goin the same way... they have no choice. think about what it's gonna be like by the year 2016 (10 years (duh)). people will laugh at the crap that we have to deal with now. just look to the past to predict the future.
First of all, the whole point of texting is for when you don't really wanna talk: you're at a loud place, at work, in class, on a date... or you really just don't wanna talk.
Secondly, why don't they have them do a real world text. Something like, "had a great time last night. what are you doing sunday? the boys and I are having a bbq." I doubt that would still blow Ben away.
I think this is more a dictation machine than a voice recognition texter. When they can invent something that can read my mind faster than Mr. Ben Cook can text, I'll be interested.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
