While Exclaimable is a novel idea, I think the big news in podcasting is that people can now host live radio shows over the internet using nothing more than a telephone. There's a new service (not sure if it's officially launched yet) called BlogTalkRadio that enables users to host live shows over with call-ins from anywhere in the world. It's completely free and all you need is a telephone. That's what I call empowering instant gratification.
I used to suffer bouts of tech envy when all my smart phone-toting friends would brag about their search function capabilities. I admit it - I was totally jealous until I discovered the new lot of mobile Q&A services that turn green screens into "smart phones." My current rave is AskMeNow – put simply I can text ANY question to ASKME and in a few minutes I have an answer. So far, all my questions have been answered with 100% accuracy. It's efficient enough to make you wonder if smart phones are doomed as a result of these low-cost services.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
